My friend and I arrived after 4pm and the room was not ready. Even though it states check in is after 3pm. We asked if they could provide us with a coffee after our long flight they said they do not offer this service and if we want one we need to go the restaurant. When the room was finally ready it was the wrong room. We requested 2 single beds and they gave us a double so we had to wait again until that was sorted. When we asked to speak to the manager who said his name was Wayne Lym he was so rude. He said we never requested the single beds (I had a email from trip.com to show this was acknowledged from the resort at time of booking and would be arranged) the manager did not care we had a long flight and was still waiting past 5 for our room. Felt like the hotel was being run by Basil Fawlty! The beach it’s set on is not clean and it’s such a shame to see all the plastic bottles and no locals looking after it. The main beach up the road is far better and this one does get looked after. Breakfast was awful. Not much choice so ate out for breakfast. The pool was the best thing about the hotel.

It would be good if the room has USB port for charging phone / Ipad also if the TV channel can be with better coverage especially for news coverage like CNN / BBC channels. Overall it was a hotel most suited for Business traveller where calm environment is good for a good night sleep. Unfortunately the entrance to the hotel has long weeds and grass which mars the view of the nice hotel frontage.

I just realize we never gave feedback for our stay here in 2019, though it literally was a lifechanging one, that nearly became fatal but thanks to staff at Camar ended up with a wild story.... We came here to stay for a participation in Ironman Langkawi, and came with the family with 3 children. The resort is very nice, everything is impeccable in maintenance and the rooms are perfect! During day 1 I wanted to go for a last long swim, but bumped into a box jellyfish, which is rather frequent near the resort I came to find out afterwards. I managed to get out of the ocean, but after a night of sleep I started to react to the poison in it`s tentacles. Staff helped find a doctor, which I visited twice. The doctor said all was OK, but the staff ( especially the doorboy from which I forgot his name:( ) insisted after 2 days I went to the hospital, which turned out to have been a lifesaving advice, a day later would have killed me.... So, many thanks for being more concise than a GP!!! During my stay in the hospital the resort drove my wife and kids bakc and forth unendlessly, even giving them food, drinks and fruits every time for me as they we sure the food in the hospital would not be waht I would be used to. Again, my wife never needed to ask, they just did and insisted, incredible!! I can`t say thank you enough!!! When we were reunited after my hospital release the resort was extremely helpfull te reschedule things as we couldn`t fly because I was unfot to fly, they never moaned and insisted to help out, incredible! During these extra days we were treated like royals, they made this stay unforgettable in any aspect. Food and drinks are very good, we are very spoiled travellers, but Camar can be matched with any high-end posh resort, but they stand out on personal touch! We will be back, with certainty!!!!

I recently had the horrible experience of staying at Camar Resort Langkawi and feel forced to share my dissatisfaction with the rest of the globe. This was one of the most annoying and unpleasant hotel experiences I've ever experienced. First and foremost, the hotel's guest policies are plain inappropriate. Despite having reserved a room for myself, my wife, and our seven-year-old children, we were informed upon arrival that the room could only accommodate two people. This immediately contradicted the information on the booking document, which stated that an extra bed could be added for a cost, accommodating three visitors. This deceptive and inconvenient rule made us feel deceived and undervalued as visitors. To make matters worse, the alternative room we were assigned, the Old Villa, was a big letdown. It was dilapidated, out of date, and obviously neglected. The terrible reports we read previous to our stay were accurate, and it's a shame that such inadequate lodgings were offered as a response. To make matters worse, after expressly indicating that we did not require an extra bed, we were forced to pay for one. The staff's refusal to meet our request without additional compensation was absurd and simply added to our growing aggravation. We witnessed a terrible incidence throughout our stay. A guest got into an argument with reception about the schedule of room cleaning and resorted to screaming and shouting. Both the visitor and the staff's lack of professionalism prompted severe questions about the resort's management and overall safety measures. To top it all off, the resort's breakfast was surprisingly poor in quality. It lacked variety, freshness, and flavor, leaving us dissatisfied and looking for other dining options outside the resort. The lady manager's nasty and arrogant demeanor on the first day was maybe the most upsetting aspect of our stay. Her dismissive demeanor and lack of basic civility made us feel unwelcome and made us hesitate to request even the most basic comforts. Finally, my nine-day trip was ruined by my three-day stay at Camar Resort Langkawi. I advise my fellow visitors to reconsider their lodging options and seek alternatives that cherish and prioritize their clients' comfort and pleasure. Camar Resort Langkawi is a resort to avoid at all costs due to its misleading policies, shabby rooms, poor food, and unprofessional behavior displayed by the personnel, particularly the lady manager. I truly hope that Camar Resort Langkawi's management takes our input seriously and makes the required modifications to provide a better experience for future guests.

This resort offers pool and ocean view rooms. We found that the ocean view area is the older section of the resort, the pool view rooms are new and modern. We had booked ocean view because of the great deal and tho it’s the older rooms it’s still very nice. The pool is big and very nice, the beachfront always has plenty of chairs and umbrellas. There are beautiful, well maintained gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely touch in such a hot climate is the lemon water delivered to you every time you sit at the pool or on the beach. Taxis are cheap and it’s very safe to hire a small scooter to get around the island. We had a great time at Camar resort. ( pronounced Cha Ma)

Camar resort is a perfect staycation resort which provides serenity of a private beach and at the same time lively surroundings of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The resort is located at just 5-6 mins drive from Cenang mall/beach and sunset cruise. The restaurant is located at the beach front which offers widespread cuisine from authentic Malaysian to Chinese, Italian with considerable vegetarian options as well. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. While the suites and private villa had better access to the beach, the pool side rooms are uniquely designed to allow access to the swimming pool from the individual's balcony. Bar is co-located with the swimming pool. We had planned a weekend visit to this resort for our anniversary. On our request for separate dinner, the resort had set up a cabana with a five course fine dining menu including vegetarian options for each course. Kudos to the staff and management for making our stay a memorable one, especially Yvonne who patiently heard all our requests and happily accommodated them. We will definitely recommend Camar Resorts for a luxurious and pleasant stay

This place used to be a lovely small hotel that we and our family and friends had stayed in many times….but unfortunately under their current management is no longer somewhere I would stay again or recommend. It has been totally stripped back of all the good parts clearly to save cost and in doing so has removed all quality. As examples…. Our room was dirty on check in, the floor was covered in hairs. We also asked for extra pillows due to me being pregnant they told us we could only have two as this was the “managers” policy. We explained we needed one more as I am heavily pregnant and doctor recommended this, but the answer was no. If this kind of policy is being set by upper management then you can imagine it should have been a sign of the rest of the hotel! At an quiet breakfast restaurant, it took 50 minutes to serve my soft boiled eggs and both times they came out and were still totally see-through- as if they haven’t even seen boiling water. We don’t actually mind waiting but the rest of the buffet (curry/Nasi lemak/porridge) was also empty, and people who arrived 45 mins after us had their eggs served very quickly. We saw around 5 customers keep asking for food to be topped up but it wasn’t. Tea and coffee comes from vats, that aren’t temperature controlled so we found them to be tepid too. Not good. But the biggest frustration was to serve a pregnant woman eggs that are so uncooked that the shell is cold to the touch is actually quite dangerous. When we went to the kitchen to ask for them to be re-done we were told this is our fault and this is how the eggs should be. We had had the same eggs two days before and they had been excellent! Nobody took accountability. Clearly the poor management style at the top has rubbed off on the staff too. Oh and I wasn’t the only person complaining another few people were also raising the same concerns about uncooked food. The rest of the hotel hasn’t had any maintenance- you only need to look at the disgusting state of the loos at breakfast to see this. mould on the door, a toilet seat that has ingrained filth on it. We tried to explain to the the manager Yvonne our disappointment, on leaving….as we used to love this hotel…but she took absolutely no accountability. Instead she was rude and told us the admin staff have to work 12 hour shifts and have to work at breakfast too - so they don’t know what their doing. A simple apology and “we will try and do better” doesn’t cost anything,- we weren’t asking for anything more. Overall- the location of the hotel is good, and they have some nice people working there but the hotel has lost all its charm under the current management. Save money and stay somewhere that values their customers!

We have just had 6 nights at Camar. Overall a very good experience. Poolside room a plus. Dinner in restaurant very good. Robots a novelty. Beach fair. Easy swimming. Staff always obliging If I could suggest a couple of things that would improve the experience. The gardens and “Lawns” badly need attention. Even mowing lawns would be a massive improvement. Language skills of staff in restaurant could be improved. Difficulty communicating in english. Provide bottle water in room. Not filter If you sre looking for a layback experience, you will enjoy Camar. Pool room recommended Close enough to Cheng area but far enough away for peace and relaxation. Chenang only Rm 5 Grab ride away
