The hotel is located a little away from the busy streets. There are many catering establishments nearby. We stayed at this hotel in a deluxe room overlooking the pool. The room has a refrigerator for drinks, TV, air conditioning. Everything works, no complaints. The concept of the location of the washbasin is not entirely clear, right at the entrance, a bold decision, it was not very convenient for me to wash myself. Initially there were no slippers and bathrobes, but after contacting us, everything was quickly found through the hotel website. Breakfast is standard, if you wish, I would like to add baked goods, there are basically no sausages in Malaysia, there was only one type of cut, but robot waiters serve the guests, this is the first time I have come across such a service. There is a security guard on duty at the beach, and staff brings guests cold water with lemon. There are very strong low tides at sea, the water is basically clean, there is no garbage, but snorkeling is not interesting either, since practically nothing is visible except sand. The picture is the same on other beaches in Langkawi. Large pool, you can swim. The area is constantly cleaned; monitor lizards and local squirrels live in the trees. There is a good gym with exercise equipment. There is a large parking lot for cars. Cleaning in the rooms is not organized, the whole day, when there is no one in the room, when the signal for cleaning is pressed, they do not clean, when you come to the room, cleaning comes and you have to leave, when you wish to change something, you receive the answer that This is their concept of cleaning. Within walking distance there are catering establishments for every taste and budget. We went to the night market a couple of times and were disappointed; after Kuala Lumpur, nothing happened. The shrimp are rotten, there is not enough meat on the skewers and there is not much choice. It’s strange but there is no abundance of fruit, although apparently everything grows. The hotel left an overall good impression. Suitable for a relaxing holiday.

A wonderful hotel with a wonderful atmosphere, very quiet and peaceful. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. Yes, perhaps not a very new hotel, but everything worked properly. Separately, it is worth noting as a plus the presence of an installed water filter for tea and more. It is very convenient when drinking water is always available, and most importantly, in unlimited quantities. Breakfast is served on the veranda overlooking the sea, which is wonderful.

This resort offers pool and ocean view rooms. We found that the ocean view area is the older section of the resort, the pool view rooms are new and modern. We had booked ocean view because of the great deal and tho it’s the older rooms it’s still very nice. The pool is big and very nice, the beachfront always has plenty of chairs and umbrellas. There are beautiful, well maintained gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely touch in such a hot climate is the lemon water delivered to you every time you sit at the pool or on the beach. Taxis are cheap and it’s very safe to hire a small scooter to get around the island. We had a great time at Camar resort. ( pronounced Cha Ma)

Just came back from spending 3 nights here. Originally booked in early 2020 but had to postpone due to Covid and then borders in Malaysia closed. Finally managed to travel here after numerous date changes which the hotel was very accommodating but I made the mistake of booking a non-refundable, fully paid room via Agoda and had a painful experience trying to push the dates. Never again with Agoda. The only bright side was there was a price drop so I got sone refund from Agoda and paid RM264 per night for the beach wing room with breakfast.
We arrived a day before Deepavali, rented a car from Kasina at the airpory and drove straight here around 11am and room was not ready as check in is at 3pm. We went sight seeing and came back later, tried asking for an upgraded room but unsuccessful. They gave us an upper floor room but not much of a view.
The hotel is a frills-free 4 star super basic hotel with pool, gym and nothing else. The entrance itself is obscured by an abandoned hut and tall weeds which gave the impression that we were at the wrong road. Quite strange. A huge high rise construction is also happening next door so you'll hear some drilling and banging. You'll need to scan the Mysejahtera each time entering the hotel premises.
The room at beach wing is bigger than pool wing but extremely basic with just a single seater sofa and no amenities other than toothbrush set. Soap, shower gel, shampoo are provided in refillable bottles. Drinking water is via their filtered 3M tap. Breakfast by the beach was served in sets. Sufficient to keep you full although don't expect too much of a variety. The sambal in the nasi lemak was delicious though.
The deckchairs on beach and pool were limited but thankfully it was not crowded during our stay. The hotel grounds were very plain, need some landscaping and flowers as the building kind of resembles an old school. Nothing for kids here, a trampoline or water slide would have been a nice touch.
Ultimately this is a very very basic, hotel suited to those who prefer a simple accommodation. I was under the impression it was a fairly new hotel in 2020 but by the looks of it, I was wrong and cant recall why I chose this hotel on Agoda back then considering there was nothing special here.
The location on Pantai Tengah is ok as it's close to Cenang and eateries. The Yuan Spa across the road was great, highly recommended and the Malay-Western stall down the road called Bobi's was good too. Grabfood is available since the hotel has closed its dining for now apart from breakfast.
Overall, our trip was smooth and staff here are friendly so we cant complain. An additional bed in room costs RM145. We will much prefer a hotel with more facilities and activities but those who are on a budget and want no distraction can consider here.

Camar resort is a perfect staycation resort which provides serenity of a private beach and at the same time lively surroundings of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The resort is located at just 5-6 mins drive from Cenang mall/beach and sunset cruise. The restaurant is located at the beach front which offers widespread cuisine from authentic Malaysian to Chinese, Italian with considerable vegetarian options as well. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. While the suites and private villa had better access to the beach, the pool side rooms are uniquely designed to allow access to the swimming pool from the individual's balcony. Bar is co-located with the swimming pool. We had planned a weekend visit to this resort for our anniversary. On our request for separate dinner, the resort had set up a cabana with a five course fine dining menu including vegetarian options for each course. Kudos to the staff and management for making our stay a memorable one, especially Yvonne who patiently heard all our requests and happily accommodated them. We will definitely recommend Camar Resorts for a luxurious and pleasant stay

The hotel comes with a nice stretch of beach and a big swimming pool. One can enjoy the beach with less crowd compared to the buzzing Pantai Chenang. However, the hotel room has a very weird layout where the bathtub has no drainage outlet on the floor. Every time after you finish using the bathtub, you will need to mop the floor with a tower as there is no drainage system. Also, there is no door separating the bathtub area from the common area of the room so it is very inconvenient if you are staying with your friend. The hotel also provides shower amenities such as body shampoo, hair shampoo and hair conditioner. They all smell weird (sort of like rotten fish).

Staying in Camar Resort during the RMCO period. We stay at Primer Villa which is close to the beach.
The villa is beyond my expectation. A queen-size bed, sofa, bathroom with bathtub, there even has an outdoor bathtub and showe area. Unfortunally the outdoor bathtub look dirty so we didnt use it.
Coffee & tea are provided but the room doesn't provide any bottle water. instead of giving a bottle water, there is a water filtering system in the room for us to fill up. For me I think is a great idea to save the enviroment to reduce the usage of plastic.
Due to the RMCO New SOP, the resort only provide breakfast, other than that all restaurant and room service is closed, that ashame.
For the breakfast, there are 2 choices either the American breakfast set or Malaysian breakfast set. I orded the American set and guess what? The amount of food are huge! definitely worth it...
The plus: large pool, quiet location, frienely helpful staffs.
Just a little point out to the management, the Aircond in our villa made a lot of noise when you turn it on, and the mini bar is not working properly. (Villa 130) And there is some stray dogs at the entrance of the resort and it bark everytime we passed by.

We always do a lot of research on the hotels we stay in and this one definitely was as good as previous reviews said. Very friendly staff in all areas, very clean everywhere.Rooms all well appointed, we had a pool room on second floor which was really nice but I would have been equally as happy in the beach rooms where my friends had a nice room. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from, really nice to sit looking at the sea / beach. We enjoyed drinks here in the evening watching the amazing sunsets. We did email ahead and say I was gluten free and all the staff were very attentive and got me the right gf bread for toast each morning and the waiter also pointed out if I wanted a sandwich at lunch with gf bread it was not a problem. Thank you ! The pool is so long and I got up each morning to enjoy swimming in it. The private beach is really lovely and clean, plenty of sun beds in both pool and beach so no idea why people still get up early to reserve ( sad ) it’s so hot not many people stay the whole day on them. Plenty of towels. The staff gave us and replenished if required plastic jugs of iced water at the sun beds . Also a water filtered tap in the bedrooms so no plastic bottles here . Very impressed how green they are. The mini bar was replaced every day with complimentary beer and soft drinks. WiFi signal excellent everywhere. Only negative for me as I choose resorts based on the gym-the main equipment was broken and I think has been a long time as I use the gym every day a bit annoying. I did mention this to them. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to local town we did not use it as we have the grab car app which is so cheap and easy to use. Many local good easy walking distant restaurants close by if you want variety. Would definitely stay here again if we come to Langkawi again . Thank you for a very relaxing Vacation.
