Absolutely the best about this place is the staff! So nice and they help you with everything and make you laugh each day!
Villa’s are good, AC needs some time to cool the room but once it’s cool jt stays cool. Bed is nice just as the shower.
Only thing that needs some work is the WIFI.

Stayed over at la pari-pari for 3 days and 2 nights and i must say i was terribly disappointed with service that i received. It appreared as if we were invisable. The guy who runs the restaurant was annoying to say the least. Unaccomodating and down right rude. We had the owners shouting at some guest to "get out of the pool" as she had been thrown in the pool with a top over her swim wear. Is that they way to speak to your guest? Food was overly priced. Drinks were crazyly priced in a place that had no one. If they wish to survive, there needs to be a change of attitude otherwise, this place is bound to fail

Response from Karina B, Owner at La Pari-Pari Langkawi
Responded 6 Nov 2012
Dear Penangmali We at La Pari-Pari pride ourselves on providing our guests with a tranquil, clean and friendly haven during their stay in Langkawi and will not compromise on our efforts to deliver this experience to all our guests. All our hotel policies are clearly stated in the guide book placed in every room. Your group however, displayed blatant disregard for these policies and also toward our other guests at the hotel during your stay. More specifically: 1. Your party not only provided late confirmation of your event to the restaurant, but also proceeded to request several last minute changes on the day of the event. These resulted in the restaurant incurring losses for the wastage of stock, but in good faith, fatCUPID's management did not charge your group for them. 2. Despite reminders from us, members of your group threw someone into the pool not only fully-clothed, but also with her shoes still on. Another member of your group who was very inebriated also chose to enter the pool fully-clothed later that night after the pool's closing hours. This posed a clear health and safety issue not only for other users of the pool but also to the young woman in question. Please understand that it was fully within our rights to charge your group a pool cleaning fee for these transgressions, but again in good faith, we did not. 3. At four-thirty a.m. on the first night of your stay, several members of your group returned to the hotel highly inebriated and caused a commotion which woke up other guests from their sleep. These individuals also damaged a car in our parking lot. 4. That same night, one of your group members in her inebriated state bolted out of the hotel and into the streets twice. fatCUPID's owner Jeremy was the only person who managed to calm her down and get her to return to the hotel. She then proceeded to allege that she had almost been raped, prompting your own party's host to urge us to call the police. As a result of her hysterics and a dispute with her husband, the inebriated woman refused to return to her room. For her safety, I personally opened up my own home to her and permitted her to stay in my living room under our care for the night. Your own group's host also requested that the inebriated woman and her husband be removed from our hotel the next morning. So if we came across less than cordial during your stay, please understand it was necessary for us to be firm with your group given the circumstances, in order for us to not only ensure your own group's safety but also the peace and comfort of our other guests and the neighbouring community. Despite your group's many transgressions, it is important to note that we did not ask your entire party to leave our hotel immediately, even though it was well within our innkeeper's rights to do so. We only asked one couple to leave when in fact there were others who were belligerent in their inebriated states. As a Malaysian, I am rather ashamed at the lack of consideration your group displayed, especially to our foreign guests who are visitors to our country. I hope they have not walked away from their experience here with the impression that the behaviour displayed by your group is representative of how Malaysians in general conduct themselves. Karina.

For more than 10 years now, I have travelled with an outstanding group of friends to usher in the New Year. Safe to say, not once, no matter how boisterous we got, have we gotten a bad name for ourselves. In fact most times, we end up being extremely chummy with the owners and management of the establishment.
Hence, it’s very unfortunate that at our recent stay at La Pari Pari, we were accused of many things. Many petty things, may I add. Corkage charges and outside food - seriously?
Sadly, children coming out of the pool and eating potato chips and M&M’s were frowned upon. And if we only ate that and took up seats at your restaurant, get mad. But we didn’t. We sat there and ordered many dishes of your menu! Do we really have to be so petty?
Isn’t it completely normal to negotiate prices on corkage? I mean sure if you’re just opening one bottle, then let it go. But if we are opening at least 5 bottles, surely we can ask?
You are in the hospitality business La Pari Pari. Please try and be hospitable.

If you are reading this review, I apologise for its length while urging you to read it till the end for a full perspective.
We have just returned from spending 3 nights over New Years at this hotel and we have been through a number of ups and downs. For the record, we took up 8 of their 12 rooms for 3 nights.
This is, in essence, a great property. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well done up. The bathroom is well-sized with incredible water pressure, and the air-conditioning works very well. There is a small pool and a lovely lawn with day-beds that were very relaxing to lay around on.
Check-in went smoothly, even though you can imagine checking 17 of us in got quite confusing. One family also had some billing needs which were kindly accommodated by Jackie and the hotel even packed us a picnic breakfast on our final morning as we were leaving early to go on a boat trip. One of the people in our group was an aged man and the hotel went out of their way to buy plastic chairs for him to sit on, as he couldn't sit on the low chairs in the rooms and accommodated requests for a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast, which is not on the menu. What's more, they waived corkage for the old man's brandy for the New Year's Eve dinner at Sugar, their sister restaurant. On the topic of service, I must mention Jamie and Shareen. In my opinion, they are the stars of the resort. Their service was impeccable, full of kindness, consideration and hospitality.
Unfortunately, we also had some very unpleasant experiences. Put simply, there were so many rules and the rigidity was severe. For example, the restaurant has a 'no outside food allowed' policy. While enjoying a lazy afternoon in Fat Cupid, we did consume a packet of nasi lemak (for which I apologised when confronted) and Pringles. The Pringles were considered outside food and that surprised me...I have never experienced that before in any hotel, anywhere in the world. Particularly not when the bill for the afternoon was over RM 1, 000.00.
We, as a group, were also criticised for asking for discounts in corkage. The way I see it, a customer is always going to try and get the best deal and it is up to the merchant to decide how much they can accommodate. If they find that these types of questions are so tiresome, then perhaps they should rethink their chosen vocation. I also fail to see how this constitutes bad behaviour, as is their claim.
There was also criticism for being friendly with other patrons in the restaurant and for 'groping'. Try as I might, I cannot figure out who was groping whom, as we were travelling as a family with kids, and our only fault for the former was being too friendly. The customers were uncomfortable, she said...they complained to the staff, she said...the proof is in the pudding, I say, and so far I have not been shown any pudding.
It must be said that these complaints/accusations/confrontations were made by Jackie when we complained about the extremely inadequate service we received at their sister restaurant. Tit for tat, or something like that. But does that apply when one party is a customer?
The last unhappiness that I choose to mention was this morning, when we had a final charge of RM 83.00 which I wanted to pay by credit card. I was told that there would be a 2% additional charge if the amount being charged was less than RM 100, which in this case, it was. Just a day earlier, Jackie had asked me why we were haggling over a mere RM80 for corkage, so I wonder why they couldn't absorb a mere RM 1.66, after we had spent thousands in their establishment.
Jackie mentioned that one from our party was making snide remarks and telling her customers about the bad service. I apologised, saying that, if that were true, it was uncalled for and should not have been done. However, I decided that, this being the correct forum, I must record my feedback here. While La Pari Pari has so much potential for being a wonderful place, with some really great staff (again three cheers for Jamie and Shareen!!), the senior management left us with a bad taste. I think it should be written somewhere that to enter the hospitality industry, one must, first and foremost, be hospitable. Luckily, we are the type to persevere at having a good time against all odds! :)
Happy 2015 everyone!

Dear Deeya I am sorry you did not have a good time with us and thank you for posting your review, as it also gives us an opportunity to clarify a few things: On corkage Your group was well-informed via e-mail correspondence prior to your arrival that both our resident restaurant, fatCUPID and its sister property have corkage policies. This is standard operating procedure for most respectable dining establishments. Despite your prior knowledge, your group persisted to press for discounts on corkage upon arrival, approaching at least four members of staff on the issue. Consequently, the restaurant’s management finally agreed to lower the corkage rates for your group with certain conditions. Instead of being grateful, you then proceeded in bad faith to criticise their generosity in a separate review for their other restaurant. On no outside food and drinks fatCUPID has clear signage posted on its bar wall stating this policy, and this is again standard practice in most dining establishments for obvious reasons. Yet, your group openly and consciously flouted the policy. In fact, I believe one of your group members even saw it fit to help herself to the restaurant’s cutlery and proceeded to then consume the outside food within the restaurant’s premises. On the credit card charges fatCUPID and Sugar policies state that any credit card charges below RM100 incurs a 2% interest surcharge. This is again standard practice in many retail establishments around Malaysia. On complaints of inappropriate behaviour by your group Please be very clear that there were indeed several complaints lodged against your group during your stay by not only the hotel guests but also diners in both fatCUPID and Sugar. I am afraid that perhaps the behaviour you consider appropriate within your circles may not necessarily be perceived the same way by some other people. For example, your “gestures of generosity” as you see it in walking up to other tables and offering them drinks were not very positively received by the tables next to you who wanted their privacy and did not want to be bothered. Also, the “friendliness” one of the rather inebriated gentlemen from your group exhibited towards two women at yet another table was certainly not received in the same light by these women and their male partners. While you may not realise it, the hotel and restaurant management staff had to manage these other guests you annoyed, to avoid from them confronting you and to save you from further public embarrassment. If it had not been for the fact that it was New Year’s Eve, and that your party consisted of a lovely elderly gentleman and several children, we would collectively have considered asking your group to leave our establishments due to the unpleasantness you were causing all around. As responsible operators in the hospitality industry, we are all very clear that the safety, comfort and requests of our customers are met, in that order of priority. Those are our guiding business principles and the basis on which our policies are founded. While you may believe the customer is always right, we beg to differ. Should a customer’s behaviour run contra to our policies and endanger the safety of said or other customers, we do have every right to either ask the customer to refrain from continuing said behaviour or leave our premise, for the safety and comfort of all. If and when one customer is behaving inappropriately at the cost of other customers, we do take it upon ourselves to try and resolve the issue directly with the problematic customer, not only to give him or her an opportunity to reconsider his/her behaviour, but also to protect the errant customer from further inadvertently damaging his/her reputation in front of other customers. Unfortunately, a handful of members from your group did not choose to take our feedback positively, and chose to continue their inconsiderate behaviour throughout your stay with us. For the record, we believe in being as fair as possible to all our customers, whether they spend RM10 or RM1,000 with us. We make an effort to communicate with our customers as clearly as possible prior to their arrival at our establishments so that customers are perfectly clear about our policies and can then make independent, informed choices as to whether they would like to patronise our establishments. You too were given those choices and the necessary information before you decided to both book with our hotel and the two restaurants. Knowing our policies and then arriving at our establishments and demanding for preferential treatment is not, in our view, very ethical behaviour. While some other establishments may tolerate it, I am afraid ours do not, as we strongly believe in upholding our policies to ensure the protection of our brand promise, service delivery and sustainable reputation. We are fortunate enough that the majority of our guests conduct themselves with a certain degree of decorum and mutual respect for each other and the staff of our establishments. While the management and staff of La Pari-Pari, fatCUPID and Sugar are collectively committed to delivering a high level of customer service, we do expect our customers to also behave politely and appropriately, out of consideration for the teams at both establishments who all work very hard to fulfil our guests’ needs and also out of respect for the other people patronising our establishments.

Stayed there few weeks back.
Pro's :
Large bathroom.
Clean rooms and beds.
Con's :
No toilet roll provided!
No toothbrush provided!
Size of a kids pool! It looks much smaller in size compare to the pictures.
No pool towel service! They expect you to RE-USE the towels for shower and would CHARGE for EXTRA towels.
Room aircond took a while to function.
OVER PRICE RESTAURANT!! Even kl serve's cheaper food for that kind of place.
LOUSY BREAKFAST! ( Only 2 piece of bread and butter, one muffin, a piece tiny piece of fruits ) that's all??? For the price they charge per room, you could get better breakfast at a motel along cenang beach.
Please do not stay in room no.6! It's creepy and scary because the rooms are facing the jungle.
The grass at the garden look like a jungle.
In conclusion, expensive! Overprice place! Un helpful! And secluded place. The place looks like white houses build on a piece of jungle.
Please don't be fool by the reviews below.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We must admit, as a small, specialised accommodation choice, we may not be to everyone's taste. Generally, we are probably better suited to folks who want something different from the cookie-cutter chain hotels and enjoy natural surroundings a bit more than built-up concrete environments. We are a little puzzled however as to why you were not provided with toilet rolls - we replenish those daily in every room and guests who require extras have always been obliged. Re: the towels, please be advised that we are guided by our ecologically oriented principles, and this extends to our linen policy. While we change linens and towels every other day, to reduce water and energy wastage, we are happy to oblige guests requests for one additional towel change a day, as we understand that folks will want fresh towels after a swim. Any further requests are chargeable, as we want to encourage guests to make more considerate decisions during their vacation with us. We live on a small island, with very limited resources, so every little bit counts. It is very important to us that we help preserve the island's natural resources, as part of our way of ensuring that its beauty remains. As stated on our website, every room comes with complimentary Continental breakfasts only. Again, this is to limit possible wastage - we provide guests with a standard Continental (toast, fruits, muffin, coffee/tea) and encourage those who would like something extra to order it from our a la carte menu. We try very hard to keep our rates competitive by offering the basic amenities and giving customers the option to pay for any extras they may individually require, instead of averaging the costs of a few customers' requirements at everyone else's expense.

La Pari-Pari was the best I could find: looked good in pictures and was relatively reasonable priced in expensive Langkawi Island. But sorry to say, I was a bit disappointed.
I liked:
* The quiet courtyard with loungers and big trees - lots of places to lay down and chill out
* Pool was nice: water wasn't cold
* The location was quite nice. You do need a flash light to get back to hotel after sunset and it is not on the beach but restaurants are nicer in this area than on the main street
* Room was clean, good sized and matress was fine
* Staff and the owner were friendly
* They provide you with a beach mat and towel, so you don't have to bring your own
* There are lots of mosquites in the area, but luckily none in the room, just a home gecko :D
I didn't like:
* The cheap feel of the furnishing: ecological can be stylish too. The rooms look nice in pictures but very cheap in reality.
* Green values were used in branding the place but not quite delivered through the concept. I felt they used them as excuse for some cheap decisions. If you want to be ecological you don't provide miniature shampoos and you provide complimentary water tank where you can refill your bottle without having to buy new bottles all the time. These just to give a few example.
* All the rules and price lists on the welcome booklet - it made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe: what kind of people they are use to have as their guests when they feel the need for all the rules?
* fatCupid restaurant was a big dissapointment: I was so looking forward to eat there but I wasn't happy with the quality and service so I choosed to eat in neighbouring restaurants
* Shower had hot water but for less than ten minutes
* They give you the code for safety deposit box so it kind takes the last illusion of personal safe
* The outdoor furnishings especially needs more care and cleaning
There is staff at hotel from 8 - 22, and earliest time for breakfast is at 9 which is too late if you want to take a day tour.
I can't recommend this hotel from my heart but I don't ask you avoid it either. Mixed feelings.

What stands out about La Pari-Pari is the personalised service that only a small, boutique establishment can offer. Not the "big hotel concierge" service, but more of a "makes you feel like family" service.
I stayed in Langkawi for the Ironman triathlon race. Which meant I had weird requests, from where to source for bananas, preparing my boiled sweet potatoes a certain way (fuel during race), meal preparations, pre-packed breakfast as I needed to be out by 5am, and back very late at night ... all met with meticulous attention and genuine care.
The quiet ambience was much needed for maximum rest and mental preparation. Bed was comfortable, the shower strong and hot.
And wifi internet works well!
But, its the team (owner and staff) that truly distinguishes this hidden gem.

My friends and i booked out the entire property at LPP for a birthday celebration. We were a big group with adults and children between the ages of 1 - 13. The property is nice, but we were disappointed with the level of service the hotel had to offer. The rooms are nice and the resort is how it looks in the photos. However, rooms were very basic. No cable TV, small pool, breakfast was very simple and restaurant opens at 9am and is closed on Mondays. We had a friend in the group who was pregnant and with a 1.5 yr old child who had to go out to buy breakfast to feed her kid, but was told off by the hotel staff for eating outside food. Generally, the hotel is nice but not worth the money spent. Too many rules and too rigid.

So I was quite exctited to be staying here having read such great reviews. I also loved the concept of eco. This is not eco friendly. This is cheap. It has been poorly made in haste for what I suspect as a way of cashing in on the tourist dollar. For a relatively new establishment the rooms are already showing signs of wear and tear, (windows not shutting, water not draining from shower). Whilst the bed was comfortable it really is the only place to sit. I agree with previous reviewer about stupid egg cup chairs. They are not comfortable and sitting in a gravel mosquito pit listening to everything the neighbours (and I mean everything) do is not relaxing. The grounds are also not relaxing. There is no shade around the pool area for example so unless you are in the pool there is nowhere to sit except more stupid egg cups in the sun.
As for the breakfast. Why bother. You'd be better off not offering anything at all. It just seems really stingy. I suspect this is to lure you into the rather expensive restaurant. When questioned about this we were told it was to reduce waste as they were eco. RUBBISH. As for how you even eat anything is beyond me. The griller/oven thing was impossible to use and you had to cook the bread as it was stale.
Oh and other thing maybe they were being eco again by not servicing the apartment but we were there for 5 days and not once had our room attended to in that entire time. We were even more perplexed at having to go to the bar every time you wanted to refill your water jug. Maybe a ploy to get you to buy a drink whilst there. I know I sound really cynical but I think these guys, gals are in it for the money. A good business mode;l does not always translate into a good hotel experience.

Response from Karina B, Owner at La Pari-Pari Langkawi
Responded 24 Apr 2013
Dear Foodies1 We are sorry you had a less than pleasant experience at La Pari-Pari. However, I am rather puzzled at some of your comments. With regards to the rooms, both my sister and I were personally on duty during the month of January, and we can assure you that all rooms were cleaned every day - we keep detailed housekeeping logs to ensure this is done. Even unoccupied rooms are checked daily and cleaned if necessary. So it concerns me to hear that your room was not cleaned for five whole days. Re: outdoor seating, as explained in response to an earlier review, the courtyard furniture is really designed for short stints. The ground is paved with gravel to avoid from the courtyards being too slushy after major rain storms, which do happen quite frequently in the tropics. We also have now installed some lovely day beds beneath the large trees in our garden which provide ample shade and comfortable spots for people to sit and read or even take a nap. In fact, I have also observed some guests having their breakfasts under the trees :-) I am rather disappointed to learn that we left you with the impression of our business being purely a money-making concern. While we do not deny that we are a profit-oriented entity, we also take a lot of care to try and provide guests with a different experience from what you would encounter in a typical hotel. For a low density hotel, we try to keep our rates reasonable, but this also translates into us having made some decisions that will enable guests to only pay for what they use. The Continental Breakfast is one such example - we've kept it basic for those who don't require hearty breakfasts, but give you the option of upgrading if you want something heavier. As for the bottled water - most establishments only provide guests with a limited number of small bottles of water per day. Instead, we permit guests multiple refills a day, which is why we ask that you bring the bottles to the bar for replenishing, as we may not always be aware of when your water supply runs out. I do understand that as a non-cookie cutter establishment, we may not appeal to those who are more used to standard hotels. But I also believe that our approach is one that will in the long-run appeal to a niche target audience who appreciate less conventional accommodation choices and are willing to trade some small luxuries for a more personal vacation experience.

Hi,
We are around six hundred meters inland from Pantai Tengah beach.
Just need to ask.
It is advisable you asks the counter staff as they have all the reservations listing for your booking date.
HI there. All the rooms are separated, so no connecting door. But the rooms are all in close proximity. Door to door around 10meters. Unless they have a family suit that I am not aware of.
