Excellent service from La Pari Pari, everything was good and nice. Only bad point is the location is a bit remote if you are not renting any vehicles... It's quite a distance to walk under the sun to anything decent.

Dear lowyanhuay We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. While we are a little set back from the main road, it does provide us with a quieter setting for those who prefer to be away from the madding crowds :-) We hope you do come back and visit us again :-)

We were really excited to be staying at La Pari-Pari as we liked the philosophy behind the setting up of this hotel. Shortly before Christmas we had an email informing us that the restaurant would be closed Christmas Day and New Years Day. Never having been to Langkawi before, alarm bells rang. Where would we eat? Turned out that was certainly not a problem. HOWEVER, we were told a picnic breakfast would be left in our room Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. When we arrived we found a picnic basket in our room with said breakfast. OMG, you call that a breakfast. 2 slices of fairly dry bread, a tiny butter pat, a tiny jam plastic pot, a minuscule sliver of (actually delicious) muffin and some slices of fruit. Oh and a bag of tea bags, coffee sticks, sugar and creamer sachets. We ate said breakfast feeling quite disappointed. When we came back to the room later, the tea, coffee etc that we hadn't used had been taken away. Why? Next day when we went to breakfast, we expected a nice fresh continental breakfast. What did we get? Exactly the same. So that was number one issue we had....
Next issue...the stupid egg cup stools. Outside each bungalow there was a lovely little private terrace with a coffee table and 2 eggcup stools, not exactly relaxing. In fact not relaxing at all as the shape made you sit forward so it was impossible to lean back against the fencing. Really really not good. In fact there was nowhere to relax as there was only one chair in the large bedroom. Outside there were dining chairs in the restaurant and 4 loungers by the pool. Enough for 12 bungalows? I don't think so. Later on in our 10 day stay, 4 day beds emerged but with no "pillows" so you had to lie flat, not comfy to read.
Next issue...we had to continually ask for replenishments of toiletries. The website made a point of showing the lovely toiletries supplied (but were only supplied once!)
Next issue....most people seemed to be staying 3-5 days. We stayed for 10. The night before we left, we told them we needed to leave at 7am. "Ok, we will be there to check your room before you leave" presumably to make sure we hadn't stuck a plasma tv in our suitcase. Next morning, no-one there. We thought it might have been polite to say goodbye and thanks for staying 10 days with us. We got in a taxi and drove off.
Next issue...location. If you don't hire a car, you spend a lot of time walking back and forth into the "town". Some days we might spend 3-4 hours walking back and forth depending on the part of the beach we wanted to be at or which restaurant we were aiming for in the evening.
Having said all that, the rooms were fabulous, lots of space and great bathrooms. We had room 12, overlooking the trees. Number 6 would be equally good.
I wonder, having read the previous few glowing reviews, whether the management have looked at some of the issues and realised a few of their early mistakes. We wouldn't stay again though because of our bad first stay nor would we recommend.

We are sorry you had a less than pleasant stay with us and apologise for not meeting your expectations. Per our website and all other communique, we provide a complimentary Continental breakfast with room rates, which can be upgraded for a small top-up amount if you would like to order a la carte items. As we've mentioned previously, this is to enable guests the flexibility of ordering their preferred breakfast choices. The alternative would be for us to raise our room rates, in order to accommodate those who want a heartier breakfast, and we feel this would be unfair to those for whom a Continental suffices. We designed our grounds and rooms to provide guests with several choices of outdoor seating. The courtyards outside the rooms are really meant for brief stints only, and due to their size do not permit us to place bulkier furnishings. As a small establishment, I am afraid neither do we stock extra furniture to suit various individuals' tastes, which was why we were unable to meet your request for the chairs in your courtyard to be changed. The day beds were in the process of being completed when you stayed with us, and as you were informed, the pillows, etc were only delivered in early January, shortly after you returned home. The ratio of public outdoor seating is adequate for a property of our size (approximately 30% of total room occupancy) and has never to date, even when we are 100% full, been fully occupied. Re: your departure - you had requested a taxi the night before, which our front-of-house team had booked for you. However, on your departure day, our receptionist was unable to get hold of the taxi provider and actually drove out to the main street to find a new one for you. She managed to order a new taxi for you at the main kiosk, but the taxi reached our premises before she returned, which was why she was not there when your cab arrived. Please understand that it was her extra effort that morning that enabled you to get your taxi on time, or you would have risked missing your flight. For your information, we check rooms prior to guests' departures mainly so that we can spot things guests may inadvertently leave behind. This is a common occurrence and we have many a time saved guests the inconvenience of departing without their essential possessions. It is unfortunate that you have chosen to misconstrue our intentions, but I do hope you are clearer now about why we do so. Overall, we have reminded guests time and again that we are more than happy to provide them with extra amenities, and are sorry if they were not replenished as frequently as you would have liked. We have now tightened our housekeeping management o ensure that toiletries are replenished every alternate day along with linens. In the past, we got several requests from guests NOT to replenish their toiletries, which was why we switched to a less frequent replenishment routine. However, feedback from you and a couple other folks have prompted us to revert to our original practice of replenishing them every other day.

My wife and I recently stayed at La Pari Pari for 2 nights together with our 10 month old daughter. As the other posts suggest, this place is a real hidden gem. Whilst La Pari Pari is not directly on the beach, the enthusiasm of the staff often makes up for this ten-fold (and the five minute walk to the sand should not put anyone off staying here). The accommodation is spacious, clean and cannot be faulted.
Whereas the staff will be quick to point out that La Pari Pari and the restaurant, Fat Cupid, are separate businesses, the two fit together like a glove. Having such great food in-house is a real plus (try the poached eggs and sweet potato for breakfast- awesome!).
I cannot recommend this enough and want to thank Tracey for all her help in making our stay so memorable. Katherine misses you all already!

Dear Tim Tracy misses Katherine too!! As do the rest of us :-) We're glad you all enjoyed your stay - we certainly loved having you all here, and as you do know, we were very sorry when you left :-) Thank you very much for your kind words. We do hope we will see you again in the future - and I am sure Katherine, who will be older then, will keep us equally busy :-)

Nice and quiet location within easy walk to beach. Very helpful staff but if making bookings go direct to a booking agent rather than booking via hotel staff. Example: the very nice "Island Hopping" trip cost 25mr but booking via the hotel cost 35mr. Everyone on the same collection pick-up transport paid the lower sum. We think the hotel staff should have pointed this out to us.
Nice room, aircon, shower. Breakfast was a "healthy" continental

Thank you for your feedback and reviewing us :-) We apologise for the mix-up re: the island-hopping. I have since asked our staff to stop selling any such trips as we have discovered that most of the tour operators running these trips do not observe ecologically sound practices and some have also been rather unscrupulous with their pricing and service levels. As a rule we try as much as possible to work with providers who provide consistent levels of service and pricing across the board, and also observe the proper environmental and safety guidelines. After a year in operations, I believe we now have a very reliable panel of operators whom we work with closely, and whose pricing strategies are very consistent across the board. Hopefully if you do return you'll be able to give them a try :-)

Upon arrival my heart sank with what we were saw as we sat around the filthy pool(with filthy sun loungers) waiting for our villas to be ready. My wife wanted to leave immediately however we had paid in full 9 months prior to our visit so we had no choice but to give it a chance. I felt like I’d let my wife down by bringing her here but I went off the photos I had seen when looking for a place to stay in Langkawi.
I’m not sure what the rules are around false advertising here in a Langkawi however, to still use the same photos from when the place first opened is disgusting behaviour and I know now this was the reason why they took our money upfront with no cancellation options. I wish I had done more research as once I had gone back on booking.com and trip advisor to read other traveler’s reviews, I soon realised there had been no reviews for over 6 months.
We were travelling as a group so we decided to persevere with this place until we found another suitable accommodation. We ended up using other hotel pools and spending over 1,000 MYR per day on food and drinks, which would have been money we would have spent at La Pari Pari if the facilities were as advertised. There is no place to sit as a group, as all the chairs around the pool are filthy and the only clean area is within a restaurant, which they clearly take priory over.
The villa’s are liveable however again the photos do not represent the true quality. They are dated, dirty and need some TLC. The staff were helpful however you could see they were scared of the owner as she kept barking orders at them to come and tell us we can’t do this or we can’t do that. When we checked out 3 nights early, the staff member understood all our concerns and agreed with our comments. When we checked out, she also said very quickly ‘no refunds, no refunds’.
Overall a terrible experience and an expensive lesson learnt. I’ve been to Langkawi several times and never had a bad experience or been met with dishonesty. Malaysia is known for its hospitality and service and unfortunately this has left a bad taste in my mouth.

We have just left here after a 7 night stay here with our friends, and all 4 of us loved everything about the place! One of their biggest assets is their very professional, welcoming and friendly staff who are happy to help you with anything. One of them suggested that hiring a car was a good way to see the island which we actually did for 2 days in the end because he was right. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any names apart from Belle who was very knowledgeable in the restaurant and helped me choose gluten free options, which as a Coeliac can often be difficult in Asia. However we enjoyed chatting to all the staff and having a laugh with them, including my daily early morning one with the guy putting out the furniture cushions and doing the gardening! The standard of everything in the rooms is high, we had everything we needed and the food in the Fat cupid was some of the best we had eaten in our 2 weeks in Malaysia. Congratulations to the owners of La Pari Pari, both of whom we enjoyed meeting, for creating this truly relaxing, welcoming lovely place and thank to you and all your staff for a wonderful stay. I will recommend you to everyone looking for somewhere to stay in Langkawi and if we ever return this is the only place we would stay. Keep up the good work!

Family of 3 (one 10 month old baby) stayed at La Pari Pari for 4 nights. Each room is actually a small house with its own gate. Very unique place compared to other hotels/ resorts.
Location
The hotel is located slightly away from the beach. The quieter beach is about 15-20 mins away (We had a pram with us so our pace was slower). The popular beach was at least 30 mins slow walk away. You can find several restaurants and minimart once you walk to the main road (5 mins).
Room/ house
Room is great, spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable. Tv is limited to only a few local channels.
Swimming pool
A small swimming pool in front of the restaurant, Fat Cupid. Great for a late afternoon dip after a long day out.
Food
No complaints, food was great each time we dined there. Besides the daily breakfast, we had our dinner at the restaurant on several occasions. Popular with non hotel guests who specially came to dine.
Service
Immaculate service. Everyone seems to really enjoy their job and having fun. Really livens the whole atmosphere.
Highly recommended to anyone!

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. What a wonderful little place in between Cenang and Tenggah beaches. Incredibly helpful staff, immaculate rooms and fabulous restaurant on site. Fatcupid restaurant has a great mix of western and delicious local favorites. Cenang is a packed loud beach and the town itself is very busy and touristy. La Pari Pari is closer to Tenggah which is a more peaceful beach. You can easily walk 10 minutes to the Cenang if you are looking for beachfront drinks and food.
The staff at the hotel and restaurant made our stay there a memorable one!

Hi,
We are around six hundred meters inland from Pantai Tengah beach.
Just need to ask.
It is advisable you asks the counter staff as they have all the reservations listing for your booking date.
HI there. All the rooms are separated, so no connecting door. But the rooms are all in close proximity. Door to door around 10meters. Unless they have a family suit that I am not aware of.
