Detailed Reviews
My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. What a wonderful little place in between Cenang and Tenggah beaches. Incredibly helpful staff, immaculate rooms and fabulous restaurant on site. Fatcupid restaurant has a great mix of western and delicious local favorites. Cenang is a packed loud beach and the town itself is very busy and touristy. La Pari Pari is closer to Tenggah which is a more peaceful beach. You can easily walk 10 minutes to the Cenang if you are looking for beachfront drinks and food.
The staff at the hotel and restaurant made our stay there a memorable one!

The room is great. Very clean and spacious. Strong exhaust fan to keep the toilet dry. The mattress and sheets are of good quality. Comfortable with it. The only drawback about the place is the location. Surrounding it is like a dumping ground. That is not only the let off part. The both exit has huge pot holes which is covered with puddles of water (high possibility of mosquito breeding ground) which makes walking out seem challenging unless u wanna wet your feet with dirty and water. So it's a need to rent a car or call for taxi.
Staff is very friendly but owner doesn't seem to greet or acknowledge your existence. My friend and I were waiting for the girl at reception who offered to walk with us to the nearest food stall because the hotel kitchen close at 2.30pm but we arrived at 3pm. The owner seems to know that we would like to wait for the girl but paid no attention or eye contact when I tried to make a conversation with the nice lady that we can go on our own after waiting for her for 10 minutes. We figured we will look for food on our own.
Second encounter for bad owner service is my girl friend ordered dinner because the cruise didn't really have much appetising food. So we requested for them to send to the room after our long day. Owner told they can't send to the room and it's not like is so far away. She told her to come pick up herself after 10 minutes. Anyhow it's comforting the staff still sent it over.
To me the greatest part of pari pari is the comfortable room and the staff. Probably the owner can improve on her service herself. Probably different treatment for locals compared to Caucasians. Will not return or recommend unless potholes are fixed

I was very happy at first when i found La Pari Pari online, through the marvelous reviews i read online, i was sure i found a gem... we were really disappointed after our 3 nights stay.
Pro:
1) Friendly staff and owner
2) Relatively Clean room
3) Cozy environment as is located outside of Cenang beach.
Cons:
1) No cable TV, you have to PAY through apps if you wish to watch a movie
2) Not much facilities except for a pool
3) Everything is chargeable, they tell you they are conserving environment hence they don't serve water in a bottle but you will be CHARGED at a second refill. What an excuse!
4) CHEAP breakfast with 2 slices of toasts and some fruits. You will need to fork out your own money if you wish something else on their a la carte menu.
5) The room is looking OK but a lot more impressive online, a bit deceiving.
6) Bathroom tiles need to be changed, it's way too slippery when is wet, my 2 kids fell on the floor while showering.
While the overall stay was okay, we wouldn't recommend it. We felt the place is so commercialised and ultimate aim is to maximise on their guests wallet than making sure they have a pleasant stay.

Response from Karina B, Manager at La Pari-Pari Langkawi
Responded 6 May 2017
Dear Fion Thank you for your comments. Am sorry you did not enjoy your stay, although I am glad you found our service levels friendly and the rooms cozy. Regarding some of your comments, please allow me to qualify some of them for the clarity of our future guests: 1. The complimentary litre of filtered water we provide daily is part of our efforts to reduce plastic waste in Langkawi. The option to refill it does come with a small RM3 cost to cover the expenses of maintaining our in-house water filter, and encourage guests not to purchase water in disposable plastic bottles. The price we charge is comparable to what one would pay for the same amount of bottled water in a store in Langkawi, without the need for creating additional waste. 2. The complimentary breakfast comes with the option of converting your breakfast vouchers to a discount on our restaurant's a la carte menu - something that most hotels here do not provide, limiting their guests to mass-produced buffets. We like to think that our guests prefer having choices, which is what we try to give them. We also take pains to source our food from select suppliers, eg organic local-grown fruit as opposed to imports, artisanal sausages as opposed to cheap, mass-produced ones, etc. So while you may perceive our approach as not being too generous, I can assure you that our policies were shaped by the belief that we would only provide our guests with the best available resources - and if that sometimes means things may cost more both to us and our guests we have faith that most of our patrons appreciate the balance we try to strike between giving customers what they want versus maintaining our own strict standards of what we feel our guests deserve. 3. Our rooms do not have cable TV, and we never advertise ourselves as providing that service. The Roomie app allows you to watch pay-per-view TV and is provided by an external resource from whom we do NOT derive any revenue share whatsoever. In fact, I believe during your stay they even had selected movies for FREE. It is regretful that you have misperceived our intentions as an accommodation provider that just aims to "maximise on their guests' wallet". I hope the above will give you and our prospective customers a clearer picture of how and why we do business. Our aim is to always strive for a healthy balance between providing guests with a clean, cozy and safe place to stay, and also ensuring that we make fair profits to enable us to keep the business sustainable and provide fair wages to our employees. While we could provide more extensive "freebies", they would mean a substantial increase in our room rates - something which goes against our ethos of giving customers a mid-range option that does not compromise on service standards, cleanliness, safety and style.

I stayed here with friends and family, the place was nice with a good outdoor pool. In particular the managers were very friendly. Overall I would not say the place was worth the amount it was, as it isn't close to a beach and one of the rooms air conditioning wasn't working properly.
Just a heads up to people visiting, please take your valuables with you from your room. My phone was stolen from my bedroom and factory resetted in an attempt to maybe sell the phone by a housekeeper. All my photos and accounts were deleted permanently, all of which cannot be recovered. The housekeeper was caught with my phone. This maybe a bit of general advice as I guess this could happen anywhere, but this had never happened to me before. Just be careful with your valuables.
The managers were however very empathetic with the situation and offered a free stay.

Hi Matt Once again we apologise for our staff's dishonest behaviour. We are deeply disappointed ourselves, as this was the first time since we opened that this has happened to one of our guests. The staff in question is new - only two months on the job - and we are currently in the process of terminating his services. From your feedback, you probably would have preferred a place on the beach itself. Most of our guests select us because we are close enough yet not on the actual beach, due to the added privacy our location affords them. I also believe your complaint about the air-conditioning was immediately attended to and we provided you with a new room the same day you checked in. For your information, another guest checked into the first room you occupied, and had no issues with the air-conditioning in it. Perhaps at the time of your check in, the weather may have been pretty warm, therefore it took a while for the air-conditioning to cool the room - it happens here in our tropical climes :-)

Coming from a loud city, the quiet and greenery of La Pari Pari was so welcome. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable with lots of storage. The restaurant has good food. It is about 10 min walk to the closest beach, and at least 20 or 25 minutes to the closest point of Cenang beach. I think this is one of the best mid range choices on Langkawi if you are looking for quiet, but also a somewhat central location.

The rooms are good but have one draw back. There are no ceiling fans. Sometimes during summers the AC is not that effective. The restaurant is pretty strict about their timings. The staff is friendly and generally helps in guiding about places to eat and visit.

Facility
It has a charming and recognizable white exteriors, complete with swimming pool in the middle. Each room comes with a patio, where we enjoyed coffee and star gazed at night. The room is clean and spacious, with numerous storage areas for our luggage. Really love the design of the room; the white-turquoise theme of the room, warm lightings and the glass door which allows sunlight to fully lit up the room in the day. Room amenities might not be readily top-up unless upon request.
Location
The Cenang shopping area is just a 10min car ride away, nearby but distanced enough to be uninterrupted by the hustle and bustle. It's situated in a small lane within a road, which can be poorly-lit at night. It's advisable to carry a torch light if you'll be returning to the hotel by foot. Unfortunately during our stay, there were numerous construction near the Cenang beach. Hence it takes us a 15-20min walk to reach Cenang beach.
Food
The famous FatCupid restaurant is situated within the hotel, dishing up delish fusion Peranankan food. The food is superb and delightful. However, the breakfast offered was pretty limited and disappointing. On Monday, the restaurant will be closed therefore breakfast will be pre-packed and sent to individual rooms.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in La Pari-Pari. The staffs there were friendly and polite, offering advice on what we could do during our vacation in Langkawi.

A little distance away from the beach but I like it that it's like a space on your own. Service was good. There is a small pool. The restaurant serve decent food. We have our drinks and at least a meal there everyday. We stayed there for 5 nights and do enjoy it. However book in advance through travelling website can be a lot cheaper:)

Hi Marilyn Thank you for your review. We're particularly glad you also got to enjoy the food at fatCUPID :-) For reference, it is always best to book directly on our website, as you get a complimentary Continental Breakfast with your room rate and can also take advantage of our promotional offers - both of which are not available via all other third-party websites.

Originally we were going to stay at a resort hotel so in comparison this place seemed a fairly cheap alternative. On arrival staff were very helpful and continued to be through out our stay. We used the restaurant twice during our 5 night stay and on both occasions the food was really good. The pool is quite small but sufficient enough to cool off in.
So why the average? We visited a nearby place as a friend had checked in there. When we entered we realised how similar the place was to where we were staying however they were paying exactly half of what we paid. Having learned this I found it really hard to justify what we had spent the additional money on. Additionally it was quite disappointing to return to the hotel only to find you couldn't be served a drink during the day despite a number of staff sitting around.
The manager was really good through out our stay and helped when ever she could. If I were to return to Langkawi, I would stay elsewhere and visit this place for an evening meal.

Dear WillTT Am sorry we did not fully live up to your expectations. We do believe we are priced competitively for the level of service and environment we provide. Re: the restaurant not serving drinks - as explained to you, the restaurant is actually CLOSED from 3-6 pm daily, to allow our staff to prepare for the dinner service.

We stayed at La Pari Pari over Christmas and had a fantastic time. Even before we had arrived we knew the service was going to be great as Shareen had already organised a private cooking class for us on Christmas day (cook with shuk - also highly reccomended) . The hotel is in a great location - set a little back from Pantai Tengah which means it's very quiet but only a short walk to the beach Wickham I thought was nicer and quieter than the main big beach pantai cengah. During our.visit the staff couldn't do enough to help - they organised cars, our laundry (very cheap price) and always with a huge smile. Breakfast was fantastic - the standard continental was delicious but I liked that you could choose to swop to the a la carte if you wished. Their coffee was the best we had in Langkawi.
The rooms were lovely very simple and elegant but always clean and the outside area with daybeds throughout were a fantastic touch. I'd thoroughly reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in Langkawi.

Hi,
We are around six hundred meters inland from Pantai Tengah beach.
Just need to ask.
It is advisable you asks the counter staff as they have all the reservations listing for your booking date.
HI there. All the rooms are separated, so no connecting door. But the rooms are all in close proximity. Door to door around 10meters. Unless they have a family suit that I am not aware of.
