My family needed an escape from the city. We just wanted to get our toes in the sand and relax. The Frangipani was perfect! We rented 2 beach villas--one for kids and one for parents. We walked right out of our villas, across the grassy yard, and onto the beach. The rooms were clean, cool, and convenient. Food was average Malay-style buffet. We bought our own alcohol at the duty free and purchased mixers from the pool-side bar. This beach is quieter than neighboring Pantai Tengah. No big crowds. Plenty of space to walk, swim, and sunbathe. One small jet ski and parasailing kiosk is at the far end of the beach. Kids enjoyed that!
We stayed here for two nights. The beach villas are pretty and right on the beach so access to the beach is easy and the stretch is pretty private with not many people except for hotel guests. There is only one restaurant which has a very limited menu. Am guessing bcos of the covid closure they aren't operating at full capacity Would suggest to avoid the family beach suite. It's built as an after thought and not comfortable at all with a king sized bed and two twin beds stuffed into a small room. The bathroom door was made of glass and didn't have a lock. With 4 people in the room, that bathroom door didn't make any sense at all in terms of privacy. Otherwise the hotel is pretty, peaceful and the staff are polite and helpful. Special shout out to Sya from the restaurant serving staff who managed the show beautifully all by herself one night.…
We spent three delightful weeks over Christmas and New Year at this pretty, eco-resort in Langkawi, our first holiday in two years after the lockdown in Malaysia. We had one of the beach villas and it was just a few metres to the beautiful, pristine beach, which we could run every day. We particularly would like to compliment the Chef and the restaurant staff who went out of their way to help us with our Whole Food Plant Based way of eating (for health reasons). As there were only a couple of items on the menu we could eat, and not enough vegetables, we would order a meal and I bought extra green vegetables at the supermarket, which Chef Hishan cooked for us, adding a small charge to the bill to cover the cost of the extra service. (Generally in Langkawi we found it hard to get enough vegetable-based meals.) Our room was very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the outside shower. Only two negatives for our entire stay: We felt that COVID SOPs weren’t enforced, with many staff not wearing masks (this excludes the waitresses in the restaurant who always wore masks) and no notices advising guests to wear masks. (It is compulsory in Malaysia to wear masks). In addition, on occasion, people smoked in the restaurant, and smoke causes asthma like reactions in me, so I really dislike it. It would be really good if the restaurant could be smoke free. But apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frangipani and hope to be back!…
The rooms are tired and the resort needs a uplift. The rooms cleaning and housekeeping is not good - the rooms were dusty & sandy. The bath tub doesn’t look like it was cleaned for a long time. The bath shower place was dirty was as well. The place requires a lot of upkeep.
I was staying in this resort for 7 nights and I enjoyed every bit of it! It’s directly at the beach, so you can go for a swim in the pool and ocean :) The staff was very friendly and cleaned the room every day, bringing new drink bottles too. Nearby is a beautiful bar called Hidden Langkawi and a mini market is only a few steps away. The garden villas have a lovely vibe and the garden itself is very pretty. I will come back in the end of this month and I can recommend this Resort to everyone, who loves the nature and a good service!
