Very nice and coy chalet. Most of the chalet are just infront of beach. It got a privet type beach as it was in a side. No much outsider are arond there. Need some maintainence though. Good place to relax with family and frinds.
Actually it was very good hotel with direct access to the beach and big territory with beatiful garden. However when we have stayed there, the hotel fell into decay. Everything was old and broken. So we asked to repair some stuff in bahroom which were repaired, The rates in the beach was quite cheap however facilities should have capital repair and be renewed.
The only thing I love about this place is the beach. Other than that, they could have made bigger signboards & renovate the other worn out chalets and building in the same premise. It looks like a ghost town during the day and haunted town at night. Hahahaha! But really. Try drop by and visit. I happen to stay in the new building that they advertise but mind u, the haunted looking eerie little shacks are everywhere before this new building.
As you look around this motel you see one day, a long time ago someone had vision and created a pretty little motel in a great location on a wonderful beach. But, then time took its toll and a complete lack of care has resulted in this, Charlies Motel, being the worst motel I have stayed in the entire world. I have never seen anything this bad, ever. A description of the room. Well it is a room, with two double mattresses on two plywood boxes. There is a sheet and a thin blanket on the bed. The pillows were the strangest pillows I have ever seen. It was like they were filled with wood pulp. They were hard. All the light bulbs were about 25w. So it was difficult to see anything. There is a coffee kettle, but it scared me. Now the washroom, it was little more than an outhouse. It was outside. The toilet was broken. The tank leaked and the flush was broken. So the Charlies Motel response to a broken toilet is a bucket. Yes they provided a bucket so we could fill it with a hose and flush the toilet with it. The sink drain simply leaked out onto the floor and there is no hot water. Cool showers. They also do not provide toilet paper. The whole toilet experience was just gross. One of the chalets looked like it had a fire in the electrical, years ago, it was never repaired. The whole place is unmaintained. The sad thing is if you look, you see the detail that was used when it was built. The management should be arrested for actually renting out a room in a motel this bad. They also should be arrested for letting such a nice place in such a great location get so run down. This motel is a crime scene of criminal neglet. Do not stay at this motel!!!!!…
Chalet was nice but have a lot of bugs! seems ok because of the cheap price. Good location? yes. Near the beach? yes. Quite & dark at night. Not recommended for famliy with kids to play around, waves at the beach quite dangerous, not suitable for kids. Pantai Cenang is more better.
The motel is so so... ok for backpackers i guess. To me its a bit expensive even for backpackers. Theres a lot more cheap/ budget hotel around Pantai Cenang. The best part about this motel is that its facing the beach. Only 1 min walk to the beach or 30 seconds if u r running.
The motel was recommended by tourist bureau at langkawi ferry terminal. Cheap? yes. Good location? For sure. Looking great outside? Absolutely. Inside the hotel has problems: aircon was broken during night with awful sound (the ice stopped the cap opening the aircon), the toilet is not for non-braves! - 4 steps are going down, big bugs are running on the floor and there is local wc there - just hole in the floor. But in fact as u plane just to sleep there - who cares?
Owners probably found out that renting out their part of the beach to jetski's and parasailing is more profitable. So zero effort is put in maintaining the hotel. Result is filthy property, rooms & beds.Great place to either get hit by landing parasailer or watch one collide with a tree though. Look further please!!
No, no, no no. Save your holiday. Find something else. Very poor maintenance, very dirty, very noisy. Bedbugs? Probably. Next door, through paper thin walls we heard sounds like there was a family dying (or being slaughtered) all night long.
In August 2014, our family booked in for 4 nights. The first impression was the amount of rubbish, mainly plastic packaging, that was laying around the whole place. A used disposable nappy (diaper) lay at the bottom of the steps to the beach. First we were shocked and angry, but then reverted to cleaning up our surroundings. There was a large rubbish (garbage, trash) skip at the entrance to the car park, so we spent a few hours picking up the rubbish, emptying overflowing bins, and used a wheel barrow to take it to the skip. The staff were obviously embarrassed, and responded by sweeping the paths furiously. However, they did not seem to regard the trash that lay in the flower beds, under bushes, and on the beach as their responsibility. Soon the place was looking a lot cleaner, and the staff were making more of an effort to keep it that way.…
