Delightful B & B in a lovely village - quiet location in a beautiful garden. The main house is over 200 years old where we had continental breakfast each morning. Our host, Dominic welcomed us on arrival and apologised for his little English. However with our limited French we got by and had a laugh about. We stayed in the... More

We stayed in April for 4 nights so we could visit the beaches and museums, the hotel is in an excellent location to access all we wanted to visit, we ate every night in Arromanches. See separate reviews. The owners of the hotel Dominiq and Natalie are very charming and despite the fact we speak very little French we rubbed... More

My wife and I and my inlaws spent two nights at La Gloriette and it was the perfect place to base ourselves for visiting the Normandy D-Day Beaches and surrounding landmarks. It's located just outside the main town of Bayeux in a very quiet town and very close to some fantastic World War II museums. The rooms are very quaint.... More

We stayed here while visiting the Normandy Landing Beaches and museums. It is a beautiful house with two rooms in a separate building as mentioned. The room we had was gorgeous, quite big with lovely authentic decoration and lots of individual touches with rose flower features, a lovely modern bathroom and the adjoining kitchen is handy for cups of tea... Charming, spotless, comfortable, convenient and welcoming. Everything a B&B should be and a great place for two couples to stay in the two double rooms separated by a kitchenette, with it's own terrace.

What do you want from holiday accommodation? If you prefer a quiet countryside location, convenient for both coast and city (in this case the Normandy beaches and Bayeux), ample free car parking, a clean, comfortable and spacious ground floor room with a lawned garden outside, (we had one of the outside 'terrace' rooms), decent 'continental' breakfast and a friendly, informative... La Gloriette is a very pleasant B&B in the middle of nowhere. Even though it is in the boondocks, which in this case means that it is hard to find without a navigation system, we had a very good time. The friendly, jovial owner speaks no English, maybe a few phrases. Breakfast was plenty, at a communal table, where all... More

We stayed here at the beginning of November 2013 for a weekend to see the historic beaches. We were greeted by a lovely French family who helped us settle quickly. The room was perfect with non of the usual room comforts ( kettle, iron and TV ) -because of this myself and Lesley had to talk! And what a weekend... More
