My partner and I are going to trek the Inca Trail in Peru this May. We thought a weekend tackling Helvellyn would be great training. I found Styan Bew and thought it looked perfectly located and at a great price. Once there, it was nothing but perfect. Cosy room, great big bed, fab shower, the biggest breakfast we have ever... What a fantastic place, a little piece of heaven even though it was raining cats and dogs when we arrived. The accomodation is first class i defy anybody to find a hotel room as good as this. The hosts are friendly and very helpful but give you complete privacy. The bed was the biggest i've ever slept in and is... More

James and Ann were the perfect hosts and could not have done more to make us feel truly welcome. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast served in the private dining room which set us up for walking for most of the day! Hartsop is a lovely hamlet set in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lakes. Fantastic walks straight from... More

A lovely B&B with only one room, with not only its own ensuite but also a little sitting room with sofa, tv and dinning table and amazing views into the garden. A wonderful and peaceful setting. Very tranquil and restful stay. It has its own entrance so you can come and go as you please - 20 minute walk/5 minute... More

Our second stay at Styan Bew was not a disappointment and we had a very comfortable weekend break. It is so nice to have a 'living room' in addition to the bedroom and ensuite, and to feel 'self-contained'. The breakfasts were great and it was good to see Ann and James again, who are perfect hosts. We asked if we... More

Amazing cottage that does feel like your own home from home! Everything you could possibly want from a B&B but with much more besides. Excellent breakfasts, clean rooms that smell amazing, cosy wood burner, torches laid on so you can find your way back from the pub, maps, games, mini fridge, hot water bottles, birds and chickens messing around outside,... Just back from a weekend stay at Styan bew B&B. What a gem! Like staying in your own wee cottage but with breakfast laid on. Good food, lovely accommodation in stunning surroundings with plenty of walks right from the door. From watching the antics of the birds and hens from the breakfast table to sharing a glass of wine by... More

We stayed here for three nights and would give it top marks . Excellent breakfast! It feels like your staying in your own cottage without a kitchen rather than a b & b . Fantastic views and friendly welcome.
