Booked a room for my two daughters who arrived late in the evening at Marseille airport. Upfront I arranged the shuttle service to pick them up from the terminal for their safety. It's never a good idea for two blonde girls to hang around at night at the airport terminal. But, on arrival no shuttle bus and also the hotel was not picking up the phone whole evening. Finally they had to take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel didn't want to refund the taxi costs. Then, next day, my daughters had to wait until we arrived by car from The Netherlands. But due to heavy traffic we arrived around 3pm. They were not allowed to enter the pool area to spend some time waiting because they had to check out at 12am. It wasn't busy there at all, so whats the problem? But the unfriendly ladies at the reception didn't have any empathy with that. The employees at the reception were extremely customer unfriendly. Then, when I arrived to pick them up, finally the manager settled the taxi costs. This hotel was entirely against my expectations, not worth 4 stars ****. Customer unfriendly, not helpful, not open for any feedback to improve their services. We won't stay here again unfortunately.

We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Tulip Marseille Airport. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the chef. We visited the nature reserve that is walking distance from the hotel, where you can see flamingos and other birds, a nice surprise for an airport hotel!

The room was unbearably hot. We could not control the temperature. For goodness sakes, it was January! However, the windows were sealed shut, we could not open them for relief and the staff controlled the temperature and would not change it. There was no air circulation, just a hot stuffy room that was impossible to escape. We spent an absolutely miserable night not sleeping because the room was so hot.

We attach great importance to your feedback about your room temperature and it has been shared with our team. Indeed you can't open your window, as it is part of our security. Temperature is set up around 20 degrees ; however you are able to increase or decrease +/- 3 degrees. Nevertheless, between end of January and beginning of February we had a malfunction with our heating for few rooms. Rest assured that it is now fixed ; but please accept our apologies about this inconvenience. Please be assured that it does not represent the quality and high standard of service we aspire to offer our guests and we will work hard to improve your comfort. I sincerely hope you will come back so that you can change your mind about our services.

4-star hotel, but 5-star service.  We only stayed here for 1 night, checking in around 9 pm before heading to Malta the next morning. We booked a queen bed + sofa bed for the kiddos. Check in was smooth, room was clean, sofabed already setup. We drove a rental car and parking was super convenient right by the hotel's main entrance door. Now here's what made our stay super convenient. Our 4-yr old (down with cold) was a super loud snorer and poor mommy being a super light sleeper couldn't sleep. After trying for about an hour, I walked downstairs to the reception area to ask if I could get a single room for 6 hours to sleep in. Worst case they say no! I did. And without any hesitation, the nice gentleman gave me access to the room right next door to ours. I slept like a baby for the next 6 hours. A potential miserable night converted to a pleasant sleep. Thank you Golden Tulip!  The next morning at breakfast, I ran into the gentleman serving breakfast. Super friendly and super helpful. I was alone and wearing my 'Mama Bear' sweatshirt. He figured I have kids. He brought a tray for me to take breakfast for the kiddos to the room. How considerate! Thank you sir, I enjoyed our conversation about Malta and I hope I like it just like you did. I was skeptical about breakfast reading some of the previous reviews. It's reasonable and will fill you up. Decent selection of breads, yoghurts, cheese and breakfast meats and scrambled eggs. Sausage and bacon were yum. Plenty options for coffee and tea. Self-serve coffee machine which is very common in France. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! 1st star for - unbelievably quiet room inspite of being so close to the airport 2nd star for - clean and practical room 3rd star for - free and convenient parking 4th star for - the nice breakfast and super friendly service 5th star for - being considerate and giving me those 6 hours of sleep.
