We originally booked the Casita for a month and loved it so much we stayed for another month. Liz and Scott were super helpful and friendly, the Casita has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxed holiday. As you come up the driveway, you know you have made the right decision. Surrounded by bush, with monkeys, squirrels, birds and... More

Liz and Scott's place is quite amazing for those looking for something more quiet and secluded. Everything was as advertised, and the cabanas and ranch itself are very cool. San Juan del Sur and Playas Maderas are still close enough if you want to get out for a bit, but the ranch enough away from the overcrowded touristy spots. Overall,... More

Our small casita was 10 km outside of San Juan Del Sur and perfect for a quiet getaway. What did we do for 3 weeks in the jungle you ask? Absolutely nothing. And it was just what we needed. Apart from cooking, and doing the dishes; the two of us laid around in hammocks with a good book, spent the... More

Our stay at Rancho Cecilia was very good! The amenities were great and so were the hosts and staff ! Sometimes electricity ran out because of the sun powered houses but it came back to normal during the day. A very good local food and not so expensive restaurant is just 10 min walk and the beaches are about 30... More

This was the very first place we stayed at after arriving in Nicaragua. Liz the owner had helped us set up transportation from the airport and was super accommodating in making sure we made it there. We, a group of three friends, rented out one of the cabanas and it was the perfect set up for us. This place is... More

I would highly recommend Rancho Cecilia to anyone looking to find a nice quiet getaway. It's nestled away in the jungle away from the hustle and bustle of SJDS. There's a great convenience store and beautiful beaches nearby. Liz and Scott are gracious, welcoming and accommodating hosts. Liz made the best burrito I've ever had complete with homemade falafel! The... More

Myself and boyfriend Nick travelled to Rancho Cecilia for a surf trip towards the end of last year. After lots of research we decided to stay with Scott and Liz for the whole of our month long trip using it as a base when visiting a few other spots. Scott and Liz are great hosts, very accommodating, welcoming and took... More

We stayed at the Casita for 4 nights and really enjoyed it.... it is clean but a few improvements could be made...noisy fans, barbed wire gate to enter the property...etc...but overall it was nice and very quiet. Location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place away from it all....but close enough to the beaches. I would personally... More

Like others have said, this place probably isn't for everyone. This is a great spot if you want to hang out in the areas around San Juan Del Sur but avoid all the hipster surfer/backpackers and the party scene. Liz and Scott were very gracious and friendly hosts that also respected our privacy. They have a decent quiver of boards... More

A friend and I were traveling down to Nicaragua together with open-ended return plans. We booked one of the cabanas for our first two weeks in the country, assuming we would move on elsewhere after that period -- we ended up staying with Liz and Scott for over a month. The cabana was everything we needed: a quiet and secluded... More
