My girlfriend and I came to surf in playa Maderas. We rented boards and paid for lessons from the surf shop in part of the hostel, right on the sea front. Positives: good waves Negative: - they try and take you out when there are no waves (check the tides, for us we wanted to avoid low tide as no...

I had always seen the 3 Hermanos hostel right on the beach in Maderas, 30 minutes away from San Juan Del Sur, but a different world. 3 Hermanos is the first of three other bars and restaurants on Maderas beach, 30 minutes down a bumpy dirt road from San Juan, you are greeted be a fairly long stretch of wonderful...

So they seem to have different staff every day and the all act like they've never seen a restaurant before. You need to walk over to them and give them a little shake just to get the menus. Then they sometimes forget one or three things from the order BUT- the kitchen seems to be under control. Delux burger, fish...

A rude, unwelcoming staff is a huge minus to this place. The location of the hostel and restaurant is great, but the waitors seems to dislike visitors and act like it. The music was loud. The food is ok.

Hostel Los Tres Hermanos is a great value budget and family run hostel location in prime beachfront location on the stunning Playa Madera. Facilities are simple however clean, with private rooms overlooking the extended beach allowing instant access to the excellent surfing and great sunset watching. Staff are helpful yet respectful of guests privacy and space. The location and price...

Let me start by saying that i have been coming to this beach and this place for 6 years. To all of you people who say "bad service, bad vibes, rude, called me cheap"- my guess is that you walked up to the counter and in English, said "i want a beer/room/food" with the same rude disrespectful tone that you...

This place has incredibly bad vibes.  Very rude staff who call customers cheap directly to their faces and creep on women. Playa Maderas is an epic beach with great waves it's too bad this particular bar and board rental shop don't seem to want any return customers.  Eat, drink and rent boards anywhere else on the beach for extremely better...

Nice place, not for everyone.. u get what you pay for, really cheap! a lot of mosquitos in the room.. inevitable obviously, little room, with a little table, a fan, and a mosquito net. That's it. But really amazing view of the beach, nice to wake up to the sound of the beach. Good for surfers, comfortable for one night..
