Booked a last minute tee time to go out and play 18. We were met by a really friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst the course is long and the greens challenging, we both really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return. The hotel looked beautiful and after staying previously at the Welcombe which is just up the road, we’d definitely choose this as our preference as it’s more friendly and personal.

We are just back from our daughters wedding which was absolutely stunning. You could not fault anything at all so if you are thinking of getting married here then you are in for a great wedding….. Now saying the above this is purely to do with the hard working staff. I have to mention Ash, Ava, and the chap who was doing the breakfast. Omg I have never come across such lovely people they are hard working and made our stay so much better. They are an absolute credit to this hotel and if I was the owner I would do everything in my power to make sure they never left. Debbie the reception/wedding coordinator done a great job and we are so thankful for her all be it I feel she was having to deal with an awful lot which perhaps the owner should of been doing. The owner Bev wow this is another story. We found her very rude not once did she even speak to us. On the day or build up to the wedding the communication is absolutely ridiculous. I feel she pushes her poor staff to deal with all the issues. Very disappointed in her as we had family from far a wide staying and put a massive amount of money through those tills one way or another. Please please look after Ash and Ava as I fear with out these your ratings would plummet Wedding… absolutely beautiful the venue is perfect everyone commented on what a stunning venue. The food oh wow a credit to your chef the beef just melted most amazing meal I have had at a wedding. They could Not do enough for us. And this is down again to the amazing staff. So really if your having a wedding don’t worry you will have an amazing day 🥰 My rating is purely for the wedding we had. Ash Ava and The hard working staff. Hats off to you

Having had an enjoyable morning playing golf myself and my friend decided to order Ham egg and chips. The amount of ham was less than I would put in a sandwich, about one and half slices of very thin reconstituted ham. A tiny piece of lettuce, one tiny piece of tomato and one tiny piece of cucumber, my friend didn’t even get a piece of cucumber. I complained about the lack of ham but it was totally ignored. All for £9.95 A total rip-off and appalling service, spoiled the day.

Having booked a “golf course view” please see the pictures attached. I advised the Reception Manager we were placed in the wrong room. Both, including the Owner blamed Booking.com. Incidentally, when Booking.com have tried over ten times over a week to discuss the matter, she seems to disappear into thin air ! The long and short is don’t complain, you get nowhere, don’t book through Booking.com, the room we had smelt of chip fat, pubic hairs in the bed, loud lock ins and ignored when showing my receipt. In hindsight, should have paid a few extra quid

There was dusty cobwebs in the corner of the main room and the bathroom, the bathroom bin was dirty with no bag in,the bedside lamp was covered in dust and dusty finger marks. Not very COVID friendly at all, disappointing as the size of the room was lovely, and the wedding we attended was perfect. If there hadn’t been an issue with the cleanliness I’d have rated higher.
