We hadn’t been to the Ritz since it was new so we decided to return and spend a few days there. It is really not a 5 Star property any more. It is very tired. They really need to update this property. The hallways and carpets look worn and dark. The rooms are smaller and the furniture is worn. The finish on the tables in the burger place no longer have any finish on them. They told us before checking in we needed to book pool chairs ahead of time and they reminded us at check-in. When we went to the pool, they said it is a first come first serve basis. You can’t reserve spots. poor communication.Pool towels are worn and have stains. We were out until mid-afternoon one day and our room had not been cleaned. I said something to the maid who was next door. She looked confused and told me she wasn’t assigned to our room. It was eventually cleaned. When we arrived in our room, there was a food tray, Champagne and a card for some other person on the table. We told the bellman and called the front desk to say there was clearly a mix-up. Yes, there was. This just one example of how the service was off the entire time. The elevator was broken during our entire stay so we had to use the service elevator. The floor indicator lights didn’t work so you just rode the elevator hoping you would arrive where you were supposed to. They had no indication they were even attempting to repair the elevator. Food service is very limited due to Covid, but we wonder how they can handle it during busy season? We understand this is during Covid, however, other 5 Star Properties on the islands are in much better shape and offer superior service. The views are lovely. Kapalua is very windy. They just need to revisit what it takes to truly be a 5 Star property.…
This hotel is Beautiful! The staff is so accommodating and friendly. It is perfect for an adult get away. I dropped one star only because it wasn't ideal with kids that may want more organized activities or a pool with fun amenities. The food was delightful and the breakfast was worth the cost, but be ready to take your time with the covid protocols in place. It won't be fast. Also, the location is secluded and quiet, which also means it's quite a drive to any of the area towns, but the beach access was walkable and not very crowded.
I was impressive with spectacular sea view. Built on the top pf hill so version was wide. Pools were heated so very comfortable. Pools were open 7/24 hours. Fleming beach is in 5-minutes walking distance. So great! Don't miss Kapalua coast trail and Dragon Teeth Access Trail both of which were worthy of spending half of day to explore. Room was luxurious and comfortable.
As you travel down what seems to be the longest winding road, take in the picturesque view of the mighty ocean just out your window. Focus your eyes...yes. Focus, yes! That IS a whale you see off in the distance blowing fine mists of ocean water into the freshest air on earth! Around the bend is what now appears to be private resort property. The finest manicured lawns and luscious landscaping all around, make taking a deep breath rejuvenating to the soul. Wow. You are now greeted by locals who graciously present each of you with a handmade lei. Enter to the open concept lobby where the breeze whistles around every corner, you’ll see an abundance of comfortable seats overlooking each of the restaurants entrances located there. The Ritz Carlton in Kapalua is open, airy, breezy, beautiful, accommodating and outstanding. My stay was for 9 (nine) unbelievable nights💕 Yes, nine nights of sleeping on pillows made of clouds and fresh linens only dreams are made of. I must mention the Nespresso in room every morning! Ok..and the most comfortable Ritz Carlton robe ever!! Take that delicious cup of joe out on your private balcony overlooking the 3rd hole on the golf course. This resort will exceed your expectations. There’s a great place to meditate under the Banyan tree. Just past the fire pit and Adirondack chairs, you’ll find a stocked koi pond of mature fish eager to greet you as you peer at their beauty. The crystal clear water allows you to focus your energy on the true wonder of nature. Stay at this spot through sunset and you’ll be rewarded with the firefly glow of dripping chandelier lights hanging in the tree. Make your way down the path that leads to the ocean and there’s a private stretch of beach for you to enjoy. I had the best time walking in the wet sand with a full moon, loud crashing waves and no worries. Be sure to unwind your mind while relaxing in one of many hammocks on the property. Get in one and stay for a while. The only thing unforgiving is the Sun, so bring the sunscreen!…
We were recently lucky enough to stay at the Ritz Carlton on New Years Eve. As always the property was pristine and lovely. The food this time around was more delicious than we remembered. We ordered tacos and burgers at the pool and Savannah was so helpful. She helped us again at dinner and we were pleased to see her again! She made our stay feel very special. Taylor at the pool hut was extra accommodating, and went above and beyond to help us feel welcomed, he was a delight. The pool bar staff was lovely, especially the nice man who had been with the company forever working at the service bar. Upon arrival we were a bit lost when a nice manager John led us to our room. Harrison was also in the lobby and we had the friendliest conversation with him. The Staff from every aspect created the most welcoming atmosphere and we were able to feel comfortable and still have fun for our New Year's Stay! We cannot wait to return! Mahalo to everyone!…
