There are B&Bs, and then there are B&Bs that are in a different league….and this is one of them. Arriving a little damp from Durham, we were warmly welcomed to a lovely old farmhouse with history, character and a very nice log fire and tea….followed by some very nice sloe gin - great treat! The bed was wonderful, the location...

We stayed in this B and B on the weekend and loved everything about it. The room was spacious, with great furniture and wonderful views of the garden, complete with free roaming chickens and guinea fowl. The owners were attentive and caring and very personable. The breakfast included sausages and bacon from their own pigs and tasted great.

Rosie, Dicken, and Lola are caring and resourceful hosts, eager to make you welcome and comfortable and share a bit of their country life with you--including the delicious breakfasts prepared from farm-fresh ingredients. The very old farm house has a charming and authentic feel--comfortable, but not artificially spiffed up. The location couldn't be better for exploring the area--so rich in...

The best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Stayed here the night before and the night of our wedding. The room was incredible, with stunning views and beautiful quirky decor. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, making us feel like old friends rather than paying guests. The breakfast was divine - I have honestly never tasted bacon...

Our stay at Black Hall B&B started off well and just got better and better. Hosts Rosie and Dickon work hard to make their guests feel very welcome. The large double room has excellent views of the North Pennines, and the extensive gardens are a delight to explore on a fine day. Breakfasts served in the lounge are superb, and...

We stayed at Black Hall for a friends wedding and we had a very enjoyable stay. This was our second visit to the B&B and once again, the accommodation, breakfast and friendly home-owners made our stay extremely enjoyable. We would highly recommend this B&B for anyone seeking a pleasant weekend in the countryside.

We have just had a wonderful walking weekend staying at Black Hall. It is a beautiful old house at the end of a long drive so blissfully quiet. A welcoming fire and we all had lovely very clean comfortable bedrooms. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would go back any...

We were booked in for one night at Black Hall and the trip started off on the wrong foot, we got lost trying to find the property and had to call Rosie a couple of times to get directions, finally, she came out to look for us and lead us the rest of the way. Once we got to Black...

My husband and I stayed for a very enjoyable 4 nights. We were in the Wellingtonia room which was spacious and light with an extremely comfortable bed, with lovely linen and a down duvet. Our hosts were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, from making a fire in the sitting room when we came in cold and wet to...
