We needed somewhere to break our journey overnight before going on to Tenby and chose this hotel pretty much at random (in fact largely because of the ample parking!) I doubt we could have found anywhere more suitable - 'Dinner,Bed & Breakfast' price is very good value indeed. We were made extremely welcome from the time of arrival right through to departure. Our room was a superior double quietly located on the first floor, having a panoramic view of the fields. Everything was comfortable and spotless; one of those places that covers all the details (i.e. plenty of toiletries, iron/ironing board, sachets of hot chocolate in the hot drinks tray etc.) Evening meal was excellent. They obviously have a great chef! Service was flawless too. Overall, an unexpected find for us and, although we don't travel that way often, we'd definitely stay there again.

My stay at The Plough Rhosmaen in Llandeilo, Wales was, simply put, wonderful. I booked the Towy Suite, a spacious and beautifully bright room with plenty of windows. The four-poster bed was luxurious, and I appreciated the comfortable couch, large screen TV, and dining room table that made the suite feel like a home away from home. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a huge shower that added a touch of luxury. Room service was a treat – I received a massive plate of fish and chips paired with a carafe of wine, all of which was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was made-to-order and served in the inn’s dining room, adding a personal touch to the stay. The clientele here is what I would call “respectable,” embodying a refined, traditional Wales charm that enhances the inn’s peaceful, quiet ambiance. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional, and my stay at The Plough Inn was perfect in every way. Highly recommended!

We had called that we did not expect to be at the hotel until 7 o'clock. That was no problem. When we arrived we were given a room on the 3rd floor. We were shocked by this because we had booked a room on the ground floor via Booking.com. The friendly lady at reception said that they had these rooms on different floors and that they were not told separately. We showed that what we booked was ground floor. Fortunately, there was still 1 room available and they fixed it. The next day they showed that they had stated at Booking that some rooms were also on the ground floor. Booking simply stated that 2 types of rooms were on the ground floor. So the lesson is to always check with the hotel yourself whether that room is indeed on the ground floor (or if there is a lift) if you have difficulty climbing stairs, especially with luggage.
The room we got was beautiful on the ground floor with a beautiful bathroom and terrace with a beautiful view. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was also excellent. Staff are helpful and friendly. It's a shame that the reception is closed after 9 o'clock, but luckily the bartender helped us with the TV (cable wasn't included).

We were on our way to Ireland for a driving holiday with friends. The Plough was a convenient location for an overnight stop on our way to Fishguard to get the ferry. Whilst the Plough had a good reputation, it exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely room with a large sofa in a seating area. We had booked dinner in the restaurant where the food was first class. Tasty starters were Fishcake and Broccoli tart and we both went for the faggots for the main which were delicious. Breakfast in the morning had excellent freshly cooked hot food. A delightful stay and to be recommended.

We had a long drive and looked on the map for somewhere to stop for dinner. Randomly picked The Plough and are so glad we did!
To be honest the restaurant was much nicer than we realised, and though we were underdressed and bedraggled midway through our journey, we were still treated with such care.
Very polite staff and the food was wonderful. We've gotten so accustomed to sub-standard chains that actual, proper restaurants are becoming a rarity; this is one, and it deserves our custom.
My wife's salmon dish was perfection, and my lamb, wow, I can still taste the mint jus! Kitchen also more than happy to make our toddler a dish the way she likes it - sausage and chips, with peas and gravy kept separate.
Our only regret is that it's a long way from home, so we're not sure when/if we'll be able to visit again. We can only hope, as I need a second knickerbocker glory just to verify it was 10/10.
Thank you for an excellent meal.

Good afternoon, Thank you so much for leaving your fantastic review as it was a joy to read. It is wonderful to hear that you had such an unexpectedly great time with us along your journey from both the service and the food. We are so happy to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your salmon and lamb dishes, and that we were able to make food for your toddler just how she likes it. We do hope to welcome you back again at some point in the future if you are ever travelling this way. Kind regards, The Plough Team

Room (204) was excellent, well presented and serviced. Food and restaurant facilities were more than acceptable. Particular praise and thanks go to the front of house staff (Hannah x2! and Susie) who were extremely pleasant and cooperative. Particular praise has to go to Gill who was excellent in all senses in presenting breakfast and maintaining such high standards in the breakfast room.
Many thanks to all, we shall return.

Our stay was brief, but a very enjoyable experience as the hotel met all our expectations, The meals in the restaurant were excellent with a wide range of choices, and after an excellent meal we enjoyed a drink on the terrace overlooking stunning countryside. During our stay we were grateful for our room having air-conditioning as the weather was so hot, the room was also spotlessly clean The staff in all areas were attentive, helpful and pleasant, In the morning the ladies serving breakfast provided a friendly welcome to the start of the day. We would recommend The Plough to friends and family

Spent a very enjoyable evening with friends we hadn't seen for a long time. Unfortunately all through our meal overloud music was played causing the people at the next table to begin shouting at each other over the music causing the next table to shout over the music and the shouting from the first and so the ripple effect continued throughout the room resulting in a completely unnecessary loud environment. Why play loud music during a meal at all and why couldn't a member of staff ask whether the music was too loud or even whether customers wanted it at all during their meal?

2 night stay. All rooms face out to the rear of the building I had my window wide open and still couldn’t hear any noise from passing traffic. Spacious comfortable room with excellent Wi-Fi. Very friendly staff throughout especially Dana who works between the Bar and Reception. Good reasonably priced food and one of the best restaurant fillet steaks I have ever eaten ( from someone who is very fussy when it comes to steak). The extensive outside seating is on three tiered levels was very relaxing whether it be for a drink or to eat.

The Plough is a little isolated, and it’s about a 5 minute drive to the nearest village/town, so it’s a probable 20 minute+ walk. Very good hotel though!

We didn’t use room service at all, as the restaurant was open for breakfast and dinner with good COVID safety practices being used.
Although you check directly I am pretty sure that all meals would still be available to be served in your room if you wanted.
The rooms weren’t cleaned etc. for stays of two nights or less.
Hope that helps answer your question.
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your enquiry. We do have a wedding every weekend in July this year, which means that access to the bar, downstairs restaurants and terraces is not available on the day of the wedding. We will serve lunch and dinner in our upstairs restaurant where your drinks will be table served.
In answer to your second question, we have some pet friendly rooms on the lower ground floor with patio doors out into the car park and grounds, other than that they are allowed in reception and terrace but not in the bar, lounge and restaurant.
Kind Regards,
Andrew
