I was truly excited to stay at The Dobbins. The history and stories of it were enough to entice me to add it to my list of historic stays in the U.K. The entry is lovely and the reception was friendly. Sadly, Maude the resident ghost was not seen during my stay. The floors are uneven and the walls rough,...

Private birthday party including 3 course meal. The food was excellent and lots of it. Pate as starter ..peppered chicken with all the trimmings....and pavlova for dessert.....absolutely lovely. Only a couple of staff to serve the whole room and food was plentiful and hot....perfect in fact

Situated in the centre of carrickfergus we stopped off for lunch and the quality of both the food and service were excellent. The menu is varied and prices are reasonable and lunch was most enjoyable.

stopped for a bar lunch. The whole place is tired and shabby. Could be amazing if attention paid to decor. Sat a while waiting for a menu. Wasn't busy but no-one came to us so had to go and ask. Food was extremely average. No atmosphere at all. I chose smoked haddock with asparagus and creamy leek sauce. What I...

Dear Judith, Thank you for taking the time to comment on tripadvisor on your recent visit. The food issues you note on your comments, I have checked and believe that these were not brought to anyone's attention at the time. The building dates back to late 13th century, you will not be aware of the legal and restrictive measures that...

The floors were creaky and the room a bit dated BUT the food was amazing, and best of all it was so friendly and you won't get this history in a premier inn! The staff were all lovely and we will definately be coming back.

This review is about the restaurant not the hotel itself. Freezing cold day when we visited so it was lovely to find the fire blazing away in the hearth and we were lucky enough to be seated right in front of it. Simple lunch food - Cumberland sausages, champ and veg for me and a Guinness and Chicken Goujons with...

We had just a short stay at this quant little inn. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. While the room was a little old fashioned it helped to add to the character. Disappointed we did not meet the ghost but can highly recommend this marvelously wee find.
