Rick is a fantastic host, very helpful and willing to go out his way to improve your stay. Great location handy for the town and transport links with a bus stop outside. Lots of room and various sizes bunk beds. Cereal, toast, juice etc laid out for breakfast.

This place was awesome!!! Right on the ocean, and the views are stunning. Rick was a great host, really made us feel welcome and has tons of information about the area. Quick drive to the giants causeway, which is spectacular. Only complaint was the cold shower, but other than that, we loved it here!!!

I stayed for three nights at Rick's hostel and I can only be positive about this experience. The room where I stayed in was really cute, equiped with its own little bathroom. The location couldn't be better, as it was really close to the amazing coastline, and it has a busstop at the frontdoor. For me, as a solo-traveller, it...

Rick was a superb host and gave us excellent advice on where to find a place to eat within a nine minute walk. Currently he takes cash only but the rooms are clean and the hostel is in a good location near the seafront/main area of town. You can park your car on the road around the corner from the...

Stayed two nights with my buddy whilst we toured Ireland from Canada. The hostel is perfectly located and close to some beautiful scenery in a quaint little ocean side town. Rick is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy and as others have mentioned , his personal touch is one of the hostels major plus points. Another plus point is the...

I think the real complaints we have...

Lovely location. Rick is a friendly guy whose personal touches make his hostel particularly pleasant, though cleanliness of the kitchen/ dining room could be improved. The hostel is let down by a 'volunteer worker' who is oblivious of the need to wipe dining room tables or sweep the floor. Bread crumbs & breakfast detritus were visible on dining room tables...

Clean, comfortable hostel at a really good price. Rick is very welcoming and friendly. Hostel has lots of nice personal touches and clean comfy beds. Bathrooms were spotless. We were upgraded to an ensuite room free of charge because the room was unoccupied.

Our double room in the attic was very small. Bed linen very worn. There were only two toilets and three showers one of which was not working. Positive points Rick friendly guy, free unlimited tea and coffee. Self service breakfast included. Hostel in good location in town.

I really enjoyed my overnight stay at Ricky's Tourist Hostel in Portstewart. I had a Double Room Ensuite that was clean and well presented. For £18pp given the location of this Hostel it is exceptional value. I was able to use Ricky's as a base and I can only say I will be back and I would recommend it. I enjoyed...
