Not too sure about this place. Greeted at the door by five bouncers and later found out that it can be a bit “dicey” later in the evening. Having said that though, our meals were only average and the staff seemed overwhelmed a little. Perhaps they weren’t used to a full house. I had a steak to compare to Villa and it wasn’t in the same league. Service left a lot to be desired and even the couple on the next table took to reading the local newspaper! The waitress forgot my second order of beer and so I went without. Needless to say we left earlier than usual. As we left I noticed they had beefed up security even more.

I recently stayed at the Anchorage for one night along with a group of 7 friends (4 twin rooms). We played golf in the local area then spent the evening in the anchor bar. Had a meal and a few drinks and were well entertained for the night by a band and then a DJ. I couldn't fault the place or the staff who were all first class. Our evening meal and breakfast the next day were lovely. This place does what it says on the tin, is good value and I think we all agreed we'll definitely be back again

My partner and I have been staying at the Anchorage for 20 years or so always going up every now and then for a break . We stayed again last year after COVID break and noticed the standards with food gone down as well as rooms needing updated . Last year we booked two nights room was ok housemaids and front of desk lovely . Breakfast next morning was the usual fry on menu which my partner got it looked cheap but ok I just had a bit of wheaten as no fresh fruit yogurt even a croissant or something I explained to grumpy waiter I had I tolerances ect and was told no vegan milk ect in hotel . Next morning ate downstairs in bar and guy serving was amazing and even found soy milk . Back to this stay we thought to give another chance we just checked out this morning and it was the same unhelpful guy this morning at breakfast, asked about vegan milk was told it should have been requested,I asked about any fresh fruit he point to a small bowel of watery chunks of tinned grapefruit. Once again my breakfast consisted of black coffee and a bit of wheaten .my partner left a lot of his fry the bacon full of steaks of fat the sausage cheap . For the price of over a £194 you would expect a decent fresh breakfast what was laid out on buffet table consisted of a pile of cheap white bread a pile of cheap brown bread ,five yogurts a small selection of mini cereal s and the tinned grapefruit. Absolutely disgraceful a hotel doesn't carry non diary milk everywhere these days does and the waiter was not helpful one bit did not care or even offer to look in kitchen for a lousy banana. Will never be back we are disgusted at the way customers paying a lot of money are being fobbed of with a cheap breakfast and nothing fresh for those like myself who have intolerances and can't eat or want a fry . Anchorage get your act together you are fast becoming a dump .

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was told we could park our bikes outside. After the disco some pissheads came out and trashed our bike. Broken indicator scuffed panier and bent handlebars, which hindered our ride back to England. They had the culprit on cctv but nothing came of it cause apparently he was a local. Bar man was lovely, he knew who it was and would testify but nothing come of it. Great hotel but rough n rowdy later on. Will definitely not stay here again. £300 of damage done. No correspondence from hotel

My stay at the Anchorage Inn was fantastic. Extremely friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic staff both at the Hotel and the Anchor Restaurant & Pub. Both Paul and Callum made every evening in the Pub fun & interesting. The rooms were extremely clean and well laid out. Lots of close parking. I would definitely recommend staying here, as I will stay here the next time I am on the Northern Ireland Coast.

My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet relaxing weekend away! ... we didn’t quite get what we wanted. The reception staff weren’t overly pleasant. There’s no lifts in the hotel. The music was banging till all hours we couldn’t get any sleep and the staff couldn’t care less. Wouldn’t return.
