My boyfriend and I stayed at the walnut tree inn for a one night rest after exploring Longleat safari and Light festival and I cannot fault it in anyway. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who helped make us feel right at home! The owner let us know she had reserved us a table for dinner if we...

We stayed two nights in November, and had a great time. Beautifully decorated and spotless room with everything we could need; a real home from home. The food in the bar was excellent, we ate there both nights; a really great sharing plate of starters, with great steaks, burgers, ribs, kids meals and lovely deserts. Nothing was too much trouble...

We were booked into The Oak room for just one night. Room was tastefully decorated and well appointed with shower and bath. Very comfortable sleigh bed and a sofa to relax in. Food was excellent, service polite and efficient and good value for money. The Walnut Tree has a traditionional country pub feel which makes it very relaxed and enjoyable....

We stayed in one of the 'standard' rooms although it was decorated to a superb standard and was plenty spacious enough for the two of us. The only downside was that it was slightly chilly, but I do tend to feel the cold and it was early October so maybe they hadn't turned the heating on yet! The service we...

After our last two nights away being less than peaceful we booked the Walnut Tree with a bit of trepidation . However, as it was ideal as a base for our house hunting expedition, we decided to risk it. It turned out to be an good choice. The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable, (tip: always book direct...

we chose this as a halfway stopover on our way to location after reading the reviews and its closeness to the A303 . we were late arriving due to long delays on the M25 but upon arrival we were shown to a lovely en suite room and given the access code we were also told they had reserved us a...

We stayed here recently with our twin grandsons. The room was very well appointed & the bed one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. The children loved the bath & the daily supply of sweets. Great tea & coffee making facilities. The food was of a very good standard & the choice was very...

Chosen at short notice from Trip Advisor. Lived up to its billing. Comfortable room. Excellent carvery supper on Sunday evening. Really friendly and energetic young staff. General feel of well supported community gastro pub - lots of local families clearly having a very good time. Will definitely go back when we are in the area. And very convenient for Stourhead

Planning an overseas trip can be daunting and risky. After reviewing many options in various Southwest towns, I was surprised to find exactly what we was looking for at the Walnut Tree. I checked it out both here on trip advisor and Google street view as well as the owners website. It almost looked to good to be true given...
