My husband and I spent 2 nights at this delightful guesthouse. Perfect location, especially for my husband who cannot walk too far. I was very pleased with the advice I got from Graham on walking along the river and up the steep hill to the Tor with amazing views over the town and surroundings. Only wish we had more time...

This is a large, Edwardian house, with bags of charm and a lovely ambience. The parking is off road and the house is very close to the town centre, and to the park that has an excellent cafe. The room was a good size and very clean, complete with good views. The landlady was very helpful and friendly. The other guests...

We are sorry you found your stay uncomfortable, if we had known a local mattress supplier can deliver within the hour. We will now try and find the room you had and change it. WE would point out that our butcher has won awards around the East Midlands and none of his products are cheap. Our 4 star award is given...

We spent 3 nights at the Riverbank Guest House. This is our second stay, and it was as good as the first one. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We got stuck in traffic and were arriving quite late to check in, they waited up for us. Our room (#10) was on the second floor. It was very clean...

We chose this property because of reviews we had read and it was very convenient (100 metres away) for the evening meal we had booked at nearby Stones restaurant. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, the room was comfortable and well equipped and the full English and vegetarian option breakfasts were perfect.

We stayed here for one night with friends, and found it very warm, cosy and welcoming. Jenny and Graham are delightful hosts, and nothing was too much trouble, right down to the blazing fire in the lounge. We had Room 1, overlooking the garden and the river, and were very comfortable. Very quiet location, private parking, but close to restaurants,...

Riverbank from the very front door has an inviting warm welcome, then you step inside the Beautiful house, with a cosy, home from home feel all the way through, decorated to a high standard even down to the Christmas Decs, tree & glowing Fireplace, simply the perfect touch & just what was needed after a -1degree cold frosty xmas market...

This Guest House is operated by a very friendly and efficient couple. It's located down a short cul-de-sac within the town so is quiet, with plenty of parking, yet right in the middle of all the facilities. The bonus is a lovely garden by the river (hence the name) although we didn't make use of that because of the wet...
