Lovely family run pub with a great welcome and good food. Tucked away in a pretty village. Well worth finding it and parking is nice and easy. We went on cold winters night and it was warm and cosy thank you

The food was cracking, the staff were polite, was made to feel really welcome. Couldn't manage the desserts menu because the starter and main did the job, and trust me I can eat. Will definitely be going back no question, absolutely spot on!!!

Stayed at the Weary Friar for one night in September prior to meeting up with a group of 24 golfers for a long weekend of golf. Arrived about 18:00hrs and was given a room key quickly and politely by what I later found out to be the landlords wife. The room was basic but clean, tidy and neat. Sat at...

A lovely little inn tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Plymouth. Although the room was basic, it was clean and the bed very comfortable. The owners were welcoming, helpful and great and the food in the restaurant beautifully cooked. It only took around 20 mins to get into the centre and I would recommend this place to anyone...

Myself and friends had dinner here two days running whilst enjoying a golf weekend. The food is excellent and good value with well kept real ales and attentive service. I would recommend a visit particularly if you enjoy traditional food.

A pal and I visit this pub for a lunch on a fairly regular basis. We have found the food excellent, cooked to perfection and very tasty. The menu is extensive, moderately priced and served by very welcoming staff. It is difficult to recommend places to eat as chefs and owners change and standards alter but The Weary Friar I...

“The rooms seemed to be similar - traditional 'pub/hotel' rooms cosy but large enough in a quiet village with excellent parking. Make sure you book dinner as gets really busy with 'locals'.”
