All of the staff were so helpful and lovely. But one staff member named Jude made me feel extra welcomed every morning. She also made the best cocktails I have honestly ever tasted! The lychee sunset cocktail she made me was my favourite. I would definitely recommend this hotel and also recommend Jude making you the best tasting cocktail you will ever have!!
Jude is the best attendant ever, so lovely, we wish we could keep her! The room was small but tidy and comfy bed. Don’t expect to be able to watch tv though. The breakfast aren’t worth the price. However the Pimms jugs and snittys worth every cent. The pool is incredible. The ‘pool access’ rooms are just ground level rooms not actually attached to pool. Overall I’d stay here again!
Not having ever been to Airlie Beach I had no understanding of the location. The terms used in describing the rooms were designed to mislead as to what one is getting. I booked a coastal room, not checking the booking information sent, which indicated coastal interior. This meant I had a room on the coastal side, but looking inwards giving me a great view if the bar of the roof and some hills in the background. Not what I expected. They are non serviced rooms, which I found unusual, with a mid-week service if you stayed for a week. Location of the Mantra is a 40 minute walk from Airlie Beach, along the boardwalk which has some great views. You could walk up and over a hill, which would make the walk quicker. However there is a busy road to cross without a pedestrian crossing, making it a risky proposition to cross, and downright dangerous for the old or infirm. Mantra staff were excellent, with a fine restaurant which I would recommend. Maybe my expectations were too high, I thought I was close to Airlie Beach with a coastal view, not 40 minute walk away with a view of a roof.…
I use therm sleep loosely as I got none. Going through other positive reviews I now see that most have only made 1 contribution which indicates those reviews are staff and or friends and not genuine reviews. Soo... Where do I start? 1. The bed was rock hard. When I could finally sleep i woke every 20 minutes with dead arm/legs and back pain. I dosed very lightly for about 3 hours all night. 2. The flooring is cheap floating floorboards. This means while you're trying to get to sleep you can hear the footsteps of all of the other guests. 3. There are so many standby lights in the room its like trying to sleep in a Woolworths its so bright, the worst offender is the TV which puts out light like torch and is hard-wired so u can't turn it off. 4. While its nice to know the smoke alarms work, I don't need to be reminded every 20 seconds by the green flashing lights above my head while trying to sleep 5. The air conditioning is nowhere near sufficient with a capacity for a small 4m x 3m room, not a hotel suite. I couldn't get the room under 25c. 6. The 'buffet breakfast' was so poor I walked in and straight back out. This one thing I can slightly understand due to restricted covid service. 7. Cheap tacky cabinetry made from piping?? What even is that, see pic. I definitely was not fit for work the next day or the four drive I had ahead of me. Think backpacker accommodation at 4 star star prices. When reading other reviews, ignore those who have only given that one review, they are fake! If you a hot room with rock hard bed and feel like your sleeping next to a Christmas tree with the lights on plus be overcharged, this is for you. I won't be back, save yourself and abort! Friendly service, always available. Good facilities, nice rooms. Well located, very easy to get around. Nice food. and pool, another pool area would be nice and hotter spa, maybe like a private spa or something.
