Mary Fitzgerald, the owner of Whispering Pines B&B in Kenmare, is a jewel. Mary is full of stories and information, and she genuinely wants you to have the best possible visit to Kenmare. Arriving at Whispering Pines, you are welcomed as if you are long lost relatives returning home.

Coming from Kinsale to Dingle via the Ring Of Kerry, Kenmare is a terrific short stay. We were warmly welcomed by Mary. The room was comfortable and breakfast hearty. We parked at the property and strolled into the township mid afternoon. Departing the following morning we were well prepared to enjoy the Ring of Kerry.

We were welcomed by Mary with tea and cookies and led to a tidy, cute room with a tucked-away bathroom. Breakfasts were filling and delicious, and we especially appreciated the b&b's location - an easy walk into town without the noise of the small community. Mary was an exceptionally lovely host, and we would highly recommend Whispering Pines to Kenmare...

This was a really lovely B&B with welcoming host and excellent staff. A short walk from the historic centre of Kenmare (located between the Ring of Barra and the Ring of Kerry). Lovely home with cheerful, well appointed room with a clever access to the ensuite bathroom. Comfortably modern with classic furnishings. Good choice of breakfasts; very nicely prepared and...

We loved everything about this B and B. Mary makes it feel like you are visiting your aunt or grandmother. She sincerely cares that you have a good time in her town. The parlor with big armchairs and the cozy breakfast room are conducive to meeting the other guests if you want to. The inn is very close to the...

As we walked up to the front door it opened and we were welcomed by inn-keeper Mary. During the next three days and two nights she was a delight to speak to and to listen to. The room was very clean. Although there was a gale blowing outside, inside it was warm and quiet. Mary gave us excellent suggestions for...

Whispering Pines is recommended by Lonely Planet and Rick Steves and I understand why. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. It's like spending time at a relative's home rather than a hotel! Pros: - Very clean and tidy room and lodging - Lovely host, very friendly and helpful - Delicious breakfast with good variety - Great location right near the...

Mary and her daughter, Kathleen, were such a delight. They greeted us warmly and helped us plan our time in and around Kenmare. Most importantly, the cozy rooms were CLEAN! Our towels were changed, fresh filtered water, and freshly laundered and ironed pillowcases daily. Breakfasts included delicious home baked breads, local yogurt and fabulous hot entry (try the french toast!)....

We traveled from Nova Scotia, Canada for two weeks in Ireland and stayed two nights at Whispering Pines. Mary is perhaps the most gracious host we met on our two week travel through Ireland. The B&B is cozy and welcoming with ample free parking and only a five minute walk into town. The breakfast's are typical of all the B&B's...

my fourth round-the-island tour of Ireland from Canada, and my fourth stay at Whispering Pines in Kenmare. I always include Kenmare in my tour; the shopping, restaurants, tourist attractions inside and around the town are great, and the B&B is the best -- sparkling clean, quiet, close enough to downtown to walk, amenities are top notch, and the welcome by...
