This place is full of character, pleasantly quirky in some places (the carpets are quite something!). It is not like your commonplace chain hotel, and the group of 40 American high school students I brought loved it. Very comfy rooms, swimming pool, great food and fantastic service - the staff were always happy to help out and "go the extra...

We stopped here for a sandwich today before travelling back to Dublin following a beautiful walk in Belleek Woods. The receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. Even though food was not due to be served until 5pm she organised tea and sandwiches for us as the chef was present . The food was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. It was...

We had a lovely meal at the Twin Trees hotel following our daughter's christening. Everything was very easy to organise in the run up with Rachael, who was very helpful. We had a private room, the Loch Conn suite, which was very well set up (I believe it can hold up to 55 but it didn't feel too big for...

A really nice hotel full of character and beautiful surroundings. It has so much potential to a great hotel but needs a lot of updating especially the corridors. The rooms are warm, clean and spacious. I have to say I am so impressed with the baby's cot that was requested. It was an actual wooden cot with a firm mattress....

I have been visiting this hotel for almost 40 years and it remains a home from home in Ballina. Don't expect a standard international chain hotel. The strength of this hotel (or the Downhill as I still consider it) is the people. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the rooms basic but very clean and comfortable....

We had our daughters christening party at the Twin Trees Hotel last Saturday, and could not have chosen a better venue to celebrate it in. Everything was excellent from start to finish. We were offered a private function room, which was ideal for our group, as their were a number of small children in attendance. The room itself was beautifully...

Last weekend we celebrated our son's Confirmation at the Twin Trees and everything was top class. Our meal was beautiful, served in the dining room which was decorated for the occasion. All the staff were very attentive and fulfilled any requests immediately. The hotel was busy with other functions on, but that didn't affect the standard of service at all...
