Nestled in a picturesque setting, the Dunraven Arms Hotel captivates many guests with its spacious rooms that boast charming accents, despite some noting cleanliness and accessibility issues. While opinions on value differ, the scenic views and refurbished rooms often justify the cost for numerous visitors. The hotel's modern yet traditional ambiance, particularly its well-regarded spa and pool, enhances the experience. Although service reviews are mixed, highlighting both commendable attentiveness and occasional disorganization, the amenities – from the enchanting gardens to the commendable dining options – consistently earn praise for their charm and upkeep.

Last night a few of us booked into the Dunraven Hotel for a girls night out. The deal included Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. When we arrived there was sanitation at the front door and also stand alone thermometer. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming delighted to be back at work. You get your keys in a pre packed plastic bag and there was a staff member to help with your bags if needed. All staff wore face masks and kept at a safe distance. The room was lovely and spacious with twin beds, there was a walk in closet with a mirror and sink as well as in the bathroom perfect when you have two women doing make up to go downstairs for dinner😀. The only downside was the shower but I would put that down to old plumbing. We had dinner booked for 8 and as were a group of 7 we were put on 2 tables which was fine rules are rules and the hotel did abide by them. Dinner menu was lovely not everything to my liking but I was allowed order from the bar menu. There was hand sanitizer on the tables in the bar which was nice to see. The staff were very friendly couldn’t do enough for us. The bar was busy after dinner we were allowed take our drinks to a sitting/meeting room were they lit the fire for us. Breakfast was served in the dining room we were given a menu and had plenty of choice. Altogether it was a lovely safe night at the Dunraven hotel if you are thinking of booking go for it, the management and staff cannot do enough for you. Added bonus some lovely boutiques in Adare for some badly needed retail therapy

We came back to The Dunraven again this September as a family treat, drawn back after the wonderful wedding of our son and his wife a few years ago. We truly didn't want to leave this time either. Even in these strange times, the Dunraven continues to offer a warm and professional welcome with palatial rooms that are quietly luxurious without being flashy.
We ate in the bar the first night and I opted for the vegan cauliflower and aubergine chermoula. It was delicious. The other half chose pan fried whiting which was melt in the mouth tasty.
Following night all four of us ate in style in the Mague Restaurant. The tables were spacious and nicely set apart from each other, service was friendly and professional and adhering carefully and without any fuss to all current health regulatory requirements.
All four at the table couldn't resist opting for the roast rib of beef main course. Served up as ordered, from rare to well done, none of us has eaten finer roast rib of beef either at home or abroad. And I don't say that lightly! It was utterly delicious.
Thanks and well done to Hugh Murphy and all the Dunraven team for continuing to offer such classy food and accommodation.

This was our first trip away since lockdown and what a delightful place to stay. Our room was sunny and spacious with a view to the beautifully laid out gardens. Food was delicious - a highlight being the 'Carved to Order' beef at dinner- so succulent and tasty. Covid 19 protocols were professionally and discreetly practised with sanitising stations throughout the hotel. We look forward to returning soon.

Had business /lunch meeting here today and the service and food was extremely bad quality. The soup of the day called out as Carrot Curried soup, it was vegetable and parsnip with no curry, no carrots and no taste. The "open sandwiches" were small and unappetizing we ordered a ham and cheese and a vegetarian - what we received was couple strands of over cooked courgette and pepper and a thin slice of brown bread, the ham and cheese were just as paltry. We had to walk over to a table to get our own cutlery in a tray that was open to the public (i thought self service was not allowed in Covid pandemic?). We had to ask for soup spoons as they were not given with the soup. The waitress eventually gave us a large dessertspoon off an open table for the soup. We ordered a cappuccino, a latte and a flat white, all three arrived (eventually after reminding them twice we needed to leave under the hour) they did arrive with literally no froth on them. I returned the flat white and it was worse the second time around, it tasted like a reused coffee pod and the milk was like weak skimmed milk - no froth. Half way through the meal we were handed the bill! We had't even finished our soup. Dreadful from start to finish. We mentioned the above to a young waiter who said he would mention it to management and that he knew the coffee machine was broken!! But we were still expected to pay which we did. I will not be returning and I will certainly not be recommending.

We've stayed at The Dunraven many times over the years and were delighted to return when Covid restrictions eased and we'd been vaccinated. The staff were as always super friendly and efficient. The hotel itself has undergone some excellent renovations (fabulous new walk-in showers in the rooms!) while closed during the pandemic, but still retains it lovely old style charm.

Dinner was fabulous on both nights of our stay...as was lunch in the bar on our first day. The staff really are to be commended - it's clear that many are young and new, but also that they are being well trained on the job. We experienced nothing but good service throughout our stay.

Most important though is that we felt so safe while there. Everything was spotlessly clean, every table, whether in the bar or restaurant had bottles of sanitiser, and social distancing was well observed. We can't wait to go back! Big thank you to all at The Dunraven for making our first trip outside Dublin in almost 11 months very special. :)

I think some things have seen better days, the outside of the hotel and some of the general interior needs to be updated. We had a refurbished room which was lovely and big but the decor didn't really work,it was too modern for the hotel. The breakfast was lovely but the silver cutlery needs to be thrown out,its all worn and discoloured,I had to send one of the forks back as it had food stuck to it🤢 from a previous guest.
The young serving staff for breakfast and evening meals are absoutlely excellent. The meals are gorgeous.
I feel the hotel owners are trying to save money by not giving slippers or tea and coffee making facilities in the room, none of the little extras that we would be used to getting in other hotels we stayed in.

Booked and paid for this hotel last year for a “special price”for a particular event. The event was postponed by one week. I called to request my stay be moved by one week. They told me they would call me back. They did not. When I called them the person on the other side of the phone blurted to me they where fully booked. When I checked on the hotels web site they where not. They where offering rooms not at the “special price” but at a hugely inflated price. This I think is a particular brand of nasty. Actually I think it’s quite dishonest.
Stayed there before it’s nice enough however if there is a wedding on and your not a wedding guest you must leave the only bar they have.

Stayed here Monday 5th July 2021. Great hotel with fantastic service. A real family feel to the place, left with the impression that all of the staff were invested in making sure that my stay was the best experience possible. Lovely bedroom, high ceilings and a very old country house feel - walk through dressing room into a fabulous bathroom with very large and modern shower. Bar was quiet and reserved. Dining room well spaced out and very well appointed. Dinner and breakfast was lovely, and the staff in the restaurant hit the right balance of being extremely professional while friendly and welcoming.

Three family members stayed one night earlier in the month. From some previous reviews and first impressions I was slightly apprehensive but once inside this disappeared immediately. We had a voucher and were given two junior suits. It was cold outside but the rooms were lovely and warm as was the welcome.
The food, while on the small side, was delicious and beautifully presented. Service in the dining room was excellent and even when a glass of water was accidentally knocked over by one of our party we were immediately moved to a new table with no fuss. Breakfast the next morning was also of a high standard with a good selection of choices.
All Covid regulations appeared to be strictly adhered to.
Even though the property is alongside a main road we never heard a sound.
Only complaint- one night wasn't long enough!
