Upon arriving at Abbeyglen and having travelled the West Coast of Ireland for 3 days prior, we were immediately suspicious as to whether it was a real castle. It certainly did not look as impressive as it did in photos and was rather worn inside. But appearance aside, we were willing to give it a go as we had heard...

If I could rate this hotel without even 1 star I would. The reason the rating is so bad is because of the staff and owner. On check out I used express check out. My credit card was pre authorised so this should have been no problem. After leaving however I got a call from the Abbeyglen accusing me of...

We were very excited to stay in a Castle. We were on the lower end of the budget and had a view of a trickling waterfall, instead of the town below. However, it didn't matter one bit. The steam outside our windows was delightful and the room was wonderful. The breakfast was wonderful and had a lovely view of the...

Myself and my husband have just had a lovely, relaxing stay in this hotel. The room was gorgeous, bed was so comfy. Food was very lovely. The staff were very friendly and profesional. Great location also as its only a 5 minute walk into the town of Clifdon. The drive along Sky Road with the breathtaking views on the doorstep...

Abbeyglen is a wonderful and charming place. It started with the champagne reception and ended with a tear because we didn't want to leave. The room was very beautiful and spacious. Paul and Brian Hughes were very gracious. Then we get to the food, excellent! I can keep going, but I'll leave it at, I highly recommend Abbeyglen!

Well worth the drive! Make sure you stop at the Connemara giant on the way and read the plaques lol! A stunning property. We booked a double and were upgraded to a suite on arrival at no extra cost. Our suite was gorgeous with a beautiful fire place and lounge & Tv to relax by. Our seperate bedroom had a...

I loved this hotel. I was only there one night, but what a memorable experience. After trip into Clifden, the hotel had a happy hour where one of the staff gave a detailed history of the hotel. Afterwards, I had a great meal and then popped down to the Piano Bar for music and singalong well into the night. Later...

We stayed here for one night with our 3 children. Great food, hospitality and welcome from the staff. Large rooms with good amenities. Missed the scone and tea gathering but made up for it at the (generous) champagne reception. The children were welcomed and treated like VIPs. Definitely recommend a trip out along the Sky Road.

I have mixed views about staying here. The staff are amazing, so welcoming and the service is excellent. My hotel room was quaint and the bed very comfortable. The first two nights the room's temperature was perfect, but on my last night it was like a draught was coming through the window and it became quite chilly. The owner is...
