I can't believe this hotel gets good reviews! Maybe I'm being unfair because I haven't stayed here, but I couldn't actually go further than the lobby! We had coffee there whilst reading the Sunday papers, and it was really unpleasant. The foyer is dark, with ancient mustard coloured, dirty, worn furniture, and the smell of old, greasy carpet and upholstery...

we had booked the restaurant in Foyles Hotel because we had a good experience before. Saturday night was booked up but they were offering the Valentine's Menu on Friday night also and so we took that. The restaurant has a very pleasant ambience - kind of traditional and comfortably old-world. It is situated in the middle of the town and...

I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Clifden. We stayed at Foyles Hotel and were not disappointed with any aspect of the experience. We were greeted by the lovely receptionist and a roaring fire. Our room was really large, clean, filled with antiques and a we had a really lovely soft bed. Breakfast was delicious, each morning I...

Since first staying in Foyles in 2013 have returned regularly and it never fails to impress. The perfect service derives from the great team and their pride in performance which has not interfered with their warm disposition. No request is beyond them giving a real home from home feeling. The restaurant is relaxed but top of the range in food...

By far the best standard, value & quality for any hotel restaurant around. We have stayed here many times but on this occasion couldn't get in however we made sure that we would dine in the Marconi Restaurant (hotel restaurant) & once again we were not disappointed. Our favourite has to be mussels followed by rack of Connemara lamb absolutely...

Great place to stay, really enjoyed everything about the hotel, perfect location, friendly staff, I loved the old fashioned style room and the bath was so nice too, plenty of pubs shops and restraints near by, it's in the middle of the town, great place to relax in the lobby and read the paper with a cup of coffee so relaxing

Stayed here for one night and it left a lasting impression. I liked the way this place retains its older style and does the important things well. Staff were very welcoming and check-in was friendly and helpful. Also welcomed by one of their resident dogs, an old black labrador...refreshing to see this some hotels would frown upon this (and some...

Spent 3 nights here. Love the by window and quaint decor. Clean and comfortable. The best part of our stay was the Breakfast each morning. Juice and cereal to start with plenty of fruit and then individual orders for the hot course - mmmmm, perfection. Enough to keep us going the whole day. Only disadvantage was no elevator, a bit...

Spent a weekend here from October 31 to November 2. Very impressed with facility. I have stayed in other hotels in Clifden and am surprised to see Foyles is rated 6 out of 7 for Clifden hotels. I would put it at number 1 for service, friendliness, quality of food, comfort, convenience and value for money. On future visits to Clifden it will be...

The wonderful staff of Foyles Hotel provided the most beautiful room and delicious meal for 30 people with less than two hours notice on a busy Saturday night. An extraordinary night. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Stephen and all.
