My husband and i stayed here 3 nights, it was a horrific experience. It was like something out of a museum and the staff was not very approachable. When we checked out we where charged for breakfast, which was included in the price, wouldn't of minded but the food, apart from the toast was uneatable, I had bacon the first...

Stayed for two nights. Very friendly staff. The full Irish breakfast was very good and filling. The hotel and room were very clean. The room and bathroom were quiet and spacious. Easy walk to the town center. Would stay here again.

I have stayed at the Glen Gat on my last few trips into Dundalk, and I simply won't go anywhere else! The rooms are fantastic, the staff beyond compare, and the breakfast??!! what you want, the way you want it. Folks, this is the BEST place to stay in the Northeast of the island. PERIOD!!

Many thanks Scotty for your favourable comments; our job would be very easy if all our guests were as pleasant and agreeable as you. It is always a pleasure to accommodate you. We look forward to meeting you again. Regards, Tim

Booked this wee gem on a recent stop over in Dundalk. Nothing fancy and quite dated inside but comfortable and clean. Lights werent working in room when we arrived and someone came immediately to try fix. In quiet part of town within walking distant of everything and good home cooked breakfast on offer.

I stayed unfortunately only one night in Dundalk, on my way to Newcastle NIR. The guesthouse was just a few steps from the nearest bus stop and well signed. The staff was most welcoming ang friendly. The interior was beautifully decorated. I was given a spacious well-equipped ensuite doubleroom. I slept well in the comfortable bed. And finally, that delicious...

I was retracing the route of the Tain Bo Cuailgne (the epic "Irish Iliad" of the Bronze Age Celts) so this was ideal for me; Tim the proprietor is a local expert and enthusiast on The Tain. The house is big and well-appointed. There are interesting antiques and artworks tastefully placed everywhere. The bed was comfortable and the shower was...

Breakfast was sparse (one juice, no fruit to go with it (not dried, not canned, not fresh) and it was on a busy shortcut apparently with traffic noise all night (the room was too stuffy when we closed the window) and the bathroom door jammed on the architrave and would not close...but what annoyed us was that we chose GlenGat...

Let me begin by saying we stayed in 6 other locations on our trip, all of which receive a hearty 5 stars for excellence. Glen Gat House was a notable low point for many reasons which could have been remedied with some investment and attention to detail. I'll keep it simple with a list: -Our "non-smoking" room positively stank of...
