I went in this hotel for two nights. Really what you expect in your immagination when you think about Ireland. Beauiful countryside, warm and friendly people, peace of mind and silence. The Hotel is in a very quite location surrounded by the magnificet Irish countryside. Inside: Fireplace, beautiful fornitures and tapestry are making you feel warm and pampered even better...

To arrive at Gregans Castle you are at once immersed in a sense of tranquility. The surroundings are exquisite, with superb views of the Burren. The hotel garden is lush with delightful herbacious borders. The welcome from the staff was warm and welcoming, and all the staff were wonderful, nothing too much trouble (even moving furniture!). Our room was spotless...

What a fabulous inn! It is beautiful inside and out. Every detail is looked after. The best part is the dining. The dinner was outstanding. Everything was served beautifully and was so delicious. The staff was super attentive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, anytime.

I stayed at Gregan's Castle earlier this month on a visit with my partner to show him the floral landscape of the Burren whilst in bloom. Before arriving at the hotel we visited the Burren Perfumery, which was well worth a visit, then drove to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were struck by the beauty of the...

Our family stayed at the hotel for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location is perfect for viewing the Burren and the countryside and it is a nice spot to unwind after sightseeing. All three of our rooms were very nice and had comfortable beds and sitting areas. The carpets were worn in a few locations but our...

We were very disappointed with this place. We had some problems with the wi-fi, but that was fixed on the second day. More importantly, one of my sons could not breath. I suspect it was dust. So, if you have any allergies to dust or spider mites, this is NOT the place for you. On our last day, we asked...

Found the overall experience disappointing - spent an anniversary weekend there, last year we spent the same weekend In another 5 star hotel which was much more pleasant. Front of house staff not very welcoming, or interested in getting to know guests. Room was quite ordinary for the price, hotel lacked atmosphere, very few people in bar area & exceptionally...

It is no surprise that this historic small hotel is a local landmark. The service, scenery, and room quality were all superb. This was easily the highlight of our trip to Ireland's west coast. This is the sort of hotel where you can go for a quiet walk in the garden, breathe in the scenery and fresh air, and simply...

The service is constantly relaxed but very good, and the food exceptionally high. This really is hoteling and food at its highest standard. You can see all the staff have been well trained. I do not know why they do not have a Michelin star! The standards we experienced were comparable with restaurants that do have 'stars'. The rooms are...

We stayed at Gregan's for one night after sightseeing the west coast. What a fantastic place to call home. Beautifully located, warm hospitality and a kitchen that, if you appreciate food, will rock your world. The combination of an inspired menu, local ingredients, impeccable execution, artful plating and superb service make Gregans a definite on the "must return" list. Most...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With breathtaking views across Galway Bay and idyllically situated overlooking the unique Burren landscape, this is the ultimate luxury and gourmet hideaway. Simon and Frederieke together with their staff manage this oasis of comfort and offer genuine Irish hospitality, award winning innovative cooking and elegant bedrooms free from the intrusion of televisions. Antiques, an eclectic art collection, open fires, candles, jugs of flowers and Shelley the cat add to the indulgently relaxing atmosphere. The hotel while strictly not a "castle" in the usual sense of the word has been named "Gregans Castle" since it was built in 1750 as a more comfortable residence for the O'Loughlen and Martyn families from the nearby 16th century towerhouse. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way and the Burren Food Trail. The ideal location from which to enjoy the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Walking, Cycling, the Aran Islands, Horse Riding, Surfing, Sea Angling, Golf. Members of The Burren Ecotourism Network.
