Nestled in a picturesque setting, The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre is lauded for its charming atmosphere and scenic views. Families especially enjoy the leisure centre's pool and slide, although the amenities can become crowded at times. Guests commend the hotel for its spacious, immaculate rooms with sweeping lake vistas, although some suggest the decor could use refreshing. The staff's warmth and professionalism are often mentioned, despite occasional service hiccups. Travelers consider the hotel to provide solid value and are generally satisfied with its offerings.

Stayed in July 2020 while there were some covid restrictions. Hotel had very good standards and for checkin items were sanitised before and after use. Breakfast had a buffet that one of the staff served you for cereals, juices etc and a cook breakfast which you could order and was very nice.
We had dinner in the restaurant one of the nights and it was very tasty and the kids meals were very good too.
Ate in the bar another night and again had a nice meal.
The room for 4 of us was a good size but did hear boiler noise during the night in our room.
Location is nice to walk around both Ballina and Killaloe and also to base yourself to explore the Shannon region.
Our 2 kids loved the slide in the pool and were up and down it one hundred times. Staff in the leisure centre were very nice friendly and helpful;.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent and served fresh and hot. The breakfast is outstanding and freshly cooked with a fully array of choices. A few things could give the hotel some extra stars inc. Replacing the missing H on the hot taps in men's toilet on ground floor and in room 114 and cutting the loud noise on the shower in the same room. Well done to all involved keep up the good work.

Stayed here last week for 5 nights in one of the waterfront rooms really nice stay until the last night when electricity went due to storm so decided to leave a day early. The room was a beautiful room with everything needed supplied. Only fault mini fridge got very hot. Covid safety procedures were very good. Room sealed before arrival and nobody enters during stay. Just left towels outside door and they were replaced in a plastic bag. Hand sanatizers everywhere. Restuarant/breakfast room very well organized by staff all wearing masks. Social distance etc. The only sugesstion would be not to lay tables and leave menus on table better to wait untill people are seated and hand them menu. We ate in restuarant on first night. All tables were set and menu on table. A young spanish couple came and sat at the next table which was a good distance away. They browsed the menus and after ten mins decided not to eat and left. Table was not cleared which meant someone else could have sat there without realizing. Maybe better not to set tables. Overall really enjoyed hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would return

Stayed overnight to celebrate friends birthday. Very friendly and welcoming reception staff who sorted out check in etc efficiently.
The room was a very large double with a most comfortable king size bed! All toiletries provided with large comfy bath towels and room had bath & integrated shower. Usual supply of tea, coffee etc and complimentary water.
Had lunch in the bar. Great menu choice and decent portions of well cooked food. Room service was also excellent and timely
Breakfast was amazing. A very busy morning but food was fabulous with a huge choice of buffet and cooked to order food.
The hotel setting is fabulous, overlooking the lake and within 7 minutes of town. Will definitely be back

We just returned from 3 nights in the Lakeside hotel with our 2 boys, 5 and 3. While the family rooms could probably do with a bit of a refresh the room was spotless and really big.
The pool was amazing. My boys would have stayed in there all day if they were allowed. I don’t know who enjoyed the slide more, the kids or the parents!
The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. Couldn’t fault a thing. Although the option of pancakes at breakfast would have been great.
Lastly the staff were incredible. So friendly and accommodating. There was one girl in particular who was in charge of the buffet area at breakfast, she was so kind and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting killaloe. Although, the waterfront rooms would definitely be my choice if we didn’t have kids!

We stayed there over a weekend. The rooms at the waterfront building are amazing and very modern. However, the main building of the hotel requires some renovation I feel including the leisure centre. For the dinner we were seated in the restaurant that was fully decorated for a wedding and it almost felt we were attending one. The menu choice was ok, as well as the drinks menu. However, the steak that was ordered to be cooked “rare” was served “well done”, the waitress apologised and offered a new portion together with any free drink from the menu and didn’t charge any supplement charge for the stake.
During the night the smart tv in the room was turning out itself which was a bit weird, around 5am the fire alarm went off.
When booking the stay on their website the offered an add-on of robes and slippers for €15 which I added on to have. However turns out every room at the waterfront includes it and I asked for a refund at the reception. I feel the website when booking the waterfront rooms should detect it and not to offer this option as this is confusing.
For the breakfast the bar was full and we were seated at the hall across the reception but the food there was gone and we had to go to the main bar through the reception to grab something, which was inconvenient.
Kasia at the reception was very nice and friendly!

My husband and I booked a Senior deal for 3 nights B&B with 2 dinners included. We arrived on Sunday and we’re given an upgrade to a waterfront room which was such a welcome treat! We were so lucky with the weather, and to wake with the sun shining off the water right outside our window was a delight!
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. Food was very good. Their Fish Chowder was yummy but be aware that it is a lunch size, really too big for a starter at dinner. The breakfast was delicious, whether you’re having hot or cold food. And options are well catered for with gluten free cereals, vegetarian fry and soy milk provided. We had room service breakfast one morning and our porridge, which was delicious, arrived perfectly hot and creamy with a smile and at the time requested. And we also had drinks delivered from the bar on two evenings and I swear you couldn’t have got them faster if you were standing at the bar! On the whole we loved everything about this place and will be going back for sure.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on their Summer Sizzler Package.

It was just great!

We were in a superior deluxe room which included chocolate, bottled water on arrival, fridge and coffee machine. It was large and spacious. It was very clean.

Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent.

One of the strengths of this hotel is a band of pleasant, young staff. They were always courteous and most helpful - without exception.

We went on a day trip to Portumna Castle at the top of Lough Derg. Free at the moment due to Covid. Beautiful walled garden, great cafe and self guided exhibition in the castle.

We would certainly and very happily return to this hotel.

Hi, I would suggest that they bring their own equipment as that would be the norm really. We could by all means heat pre pre prepared bottles, wash out bottles but would leave sterilising and preparation to the parents. I hope that helps

Hi Cait, There are plenty of things to do in the area from having a cruise on the lake, lots of water based activities such as canoeing, stand up paddling, guided kayaking, etc., local bikepark (mountain bike trails), Chocolate factory tours and lots more in the wider environs. We can help plan all activities by calling and booking for you. They all can be paid for directly which is great for you so you can take them when suits you. Great base for exploring the region.
