My daughter and I stayed here in September on our first night in Ireland. This is a gorgeous, historic and inviting home. The couple who own and run this B&B couldn't be nicer. We checked in early because we had flown all night and then drove from Dublin- the early check in was not a problem! Our twin room was...

No prior reservation was required at this very nice establishment in mid-Oct. What a surprise! Our room was lovely and bathroom even nicer. Everything was in perfect order. Breakfast the next morning was built to suit and delicious. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

What a gem is the Walcot B&B! Some guide books ignore the Midlands region of Ireland but I am so glad I read one that did not so that we could stay at this lovely property. The building has stood since the 1780's and James, our host, grew up in the house and converted it into a B&B more than...

The room was large and comfortable. There are several interesting local pubs and at least one excellent restaurant within walking distance. It across the road from a beautifully preserved castle and grounds. Breakfast, including the Full Irish, was excellent. The owners/hosts are very accommodating and helpful guides to the area. Birr is ideally situated for touring and activities in the...

Beautiful georgian mansion, immaculately decorated with great attention to detail. Stayed 1 night with 2 small kids, unfortunately only family room was unavailable so kids had to sleep on airbed with no objections. Room was scrumptious and spacious, so plenty of space for double airbed. Bed and pillows were perfect, soft yet not too soft. Huge luxuriously decorated drawing room...

We loved this wonderful B&B. You must try and stay here if you get the chance. We were travelling from Kerry to the North and needed to rest after the previous nights Irish wedding, (if you've been to one you will know what I mean!!) This place will make you feel so relaxed and surrounded in luxury. Lots of lovely...

Across from Birr Castle in a very nice historic building. Decorating was well planned and coordinated. Host and hostess were most accommodating. Very good breakfast. Short walk into town. Comfortable sleeping and quiet. Our best b and b on our trip to Ireland.
