Just back from my second year staying at the West Coast Lodge. The first year I had a fantastic experience, however since then they have undergone a change in management which has really hurt the charm of the place. Poor service and strict curfews really hindered my enjoyment. Rooms were also extremely basic and dirty in some places.

Unfriendly staff who just about put out her cigarette to check us in, dirty shower with mould, cracked tiles and a shower curtain that you wouldnt touch without getting jabs first. Rough old towels, mad people drinking and running around corridors all night, noisiest place I have ever been. I didnt sleep at all.Avoid if its the last thing you...

The room was clean but nothing special, the owner was friendly, the breakfast was a bit poor and we didn't find the WiFi signal. We didn't find the lodge at first but we asked in a shop and it was very well known so it was finally very easy to find.

Stayed here a couple of years ago so booked again as part of a Wild Atlantic Way stopover. It's not the same. The room had a distinct smell of must, and there was rubbish from previous guests on the floor. The common room no longer looks very welcoming either, with a used condom to be found on the balcony area....

Stayed here in July. Group of friends. The receptionist is not friendly and has a poor manner towards guests in my opinion. A little smile and cheer would make the place more welcoming. The shower was grand and hot but not clean. The cistern of the toilet took 10 minutes to fill and was incredibly noisy which became a running...

Though the staff were nice and friendly, the place itself was awful. I had stayed here a number of years back and it was great, but it has gone downhill a lot. We had a double room, and though the bed was clean, the carpet was stained, the shower was mouldy, and the window was sealed shut. The room was...

First things first, upon reading certain negative reviews, I was a little worried about staying here, I wont lie. I assumed it would be a complete dive to be honest and that's why I am writing the review. We arrived at 7:30pm on Good Friday and we parked opposite the building no problems at all. (On the Saturday parking was...

The manager never seems to be around when we try and check-in here and has forgotten to add in bookings made over the phone. TBH the service is really poor. The breakfast is limited and the kitchen area smells of damp/mould, BAD. The rooms are well furnished and have good bedding, showers often didn't work when we were there. Stay...
