We stopped for lunch en route from Cork to Dublin. We couldn't find the lovely French Restaurant where we ate many years ago. We asked somebody on the street- where could we get a good meal. They recommended the Grand? hotel. On entering it looked more like a bar than a restaurant. we have nothing against bar food. After several...

We had a meeting last week and booked two meeting rooms - the Board Room and the River Room. The booking was handled very efficiently by Susan, and the whole day was a success. Competitive prices too.

Its about two years since I last stayed here and I'm sorry to say it has deteriorated in the meantime. It still has old world charm and a great location but it feels run down, neglected and shabby. Its still a popular spot but really suffering from lack of investment. I really want to like this place but as value...

My wife is very fussy about her steak. Blue means blue and that's what she got. They do a 2 for 1 deal after 3pm where you pay for the dearest 1. My fish and chips was fab and the bar manager John was very attentive. I'd recommend this spot.

We called for lunch in the bar. They do a carvery lunch for around €11. I opted for a hot beef sandwich which was served side salad. The tea and sandwich was far too expensive. There were very few people eating. This is not a surprise as there are places in the town that offer much better value

I must say I loved this hotel. I had a really nice stay. The food here was delicious. But some problem I had was that some parts didn't have the best cell signal. Also the rooms seamed a bit outdated but still good none the less. I would recommend this hotel for people looking for weekend away or a cheap...

Do not book here. Room dirty and smelled. Carpet has not been cleaned. Staff are friendly. Restaurant is good but book another hotel or b & b elsewhere. Asked for room to be vacuumed but thisbwas not done. Disappointing.

I stayed here before and I was very impressed with my room. This time, it was unbelievably bad. Smallest room ever, dingy is the word that comes to mind. Looking over an alley way where the bins and bottles are kept. I was delivering training that night for the local doctors and we had a lovely big training room (same...

I had dinner at the Grand recently. I was nicely surprised by the food. Everyone at the table was happy with their meal (salmon, steak, green curry) and special mention for the desserts who were fresh and tasty (try the fresh fruit pavlova, it's original and very nice). Note that they have a nice offer as well (1 main, the...
