We went here with our two boys for dinner over the Easter weekend. We arrived early (5.30) but the pub was open although not accepting orders for dinner until 6pm. We duly ordered drinks and bided our time before ordering. The barmaid was very solicitous and naturally friendly, taking great care of our comfort and enjoyment. The food took a...

Called here for an evening meal mid week while staying in the area. The pub was very quiet and we were the only ones eating. We were made to feel very welcomed- the landlady and staff were very warm and friendly. The food was straightforward pub grub. We had scampi, belly of pork and steak and ale pie. The portions...

Stumbled across this pub in lovely village for lunch. It was a bit chilly inside with no heating on; and was a chilly 10 degrees outside. We ordered a sandwich and two hot meals, and waited a long time for it to arrive. The steak pie was ok, with chips that were underdone inside; and the lasagne had no tomatoes...

Stayed for just one night but Sue and the team made us very welcome. Rooms very clean & comfortable; good ol' proper English breakfast to start the day and lovely Rattler cider on draught for later! Just a short walk from the railway station, this is a lovely traditional pub. Sue provided lots of local information and was happy to...

A really friendly welcome in this friendly, spacious and traditional village pub. Came for a drink and a snack but wanted to check out the food for a future visit. The lady serving was very helpful with this and really made me want to come back and check out their food in the future. They have a pleasant garden with...

Excellent food, very welcoming hosts and dogs allowed in certain areas. Every one was very friendly and we felt like we were treated as frequent visitors, even though it was our first visit. Food and drink was excellent.

We dropped in here for Sunday lunch after a walk with the dogs on Whitsands Beach. We sat outside in the quiet and sunny beer garden, and ordered fish and chips and a burger. Both were obviously home made - the cod was thick, succulent and very fresh, and the burger tasty and juicy. The service was quick and friendly,...

Stumbled across the Eliot with a family of 5 plus baby after driving around and was made to feel very welcome by the owner (now know is Sue) this was after visiting 3 other local-ish pubs on previous days who all seemed to not give a care about their customers. The Tribute on every visit has been beautiful, and today...

Stayed for three nights and had a great time. Sue and Courtney were so friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast was large, hot and very tasty. Service was cheerful and efficient. Enjoyed the evenings here also, experiencing the relaxed and friendly ambience of the place and the company of the people. Sampled the food on two evenings and found...

Lovely food and friendly locals. Food is cooked nicely and is of good quality, menu slightly limited but the welcome you get far outweighs this. A large selection of local and national brews. Nothing to fault this superb establishment. Myself and my cousin K8 the poet always get a warm and friendly welcome from Sue and her staff. We are...
