Lovely hotel and very friendly greeting from the new owner Raj and his sister in law Jan. Made to feel very welcome. Bedroom was comfy and clean. Only downside was the breakfast was inedible as the chef had knocked off and the cleaner cooked it.. We were assured that this would not be happening in the future... However - breakfast... More

I guess the first welcome was the game changer for us. The chap who i believe was the barman did not make us feel welcome and just walked ahead of us to the room and then left us! No mention of what was on offer, when breakfast was served, no welcome to dine in the pub, if there is anything... More

Lovely little place, staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are superb for the price and the burger I had was delicious, as were the Butcombe beers on draft. The bed was very comfortable. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Booked the R&C B&B as was unable to get right in the centre of Bath for girls weekend away (Bath Marathon same weekend!). The B&B/Pub was nice and located in a nice little village and the staff were lovely. Food was nice (had dinner one night and cooked breakfast both mornings). Only issue we had was our shower didn't work... More

Six of us ate on a Monday. Food was good and they kindly brought a cake that we provided to the table. Good to see that they still cater for locals. We ate in the bar and would not want to eat in the separate restaurant. I recommend the black pudding and poached egg starter as well as the bread... More

Stayed here for a short trip to Bath, food was great and rooms good and liked the fact didn't have to go through bar to get to them. Easy to get into Bath as bus stop outside the pub, recommend buying a return ticket so no messing about in Bath. Easy to park

Not recommended AT ALL. Staff attitude was pretty crap mostly. I went down to ask how to get the heating to work as it was damn chilly and was told 'the boiler's broken. It'll come back when it comes back'. No apology or offer of help in any other way (bedding, heaters etc). No mention was made when we checked... More

Took a friend here for Sunday lunch on her birthday just after Christmas and it was abysmal! The beef was so rare the plate was swimming in blood, the sprouts were hard, Yorkshires soggy and the cauliflower cheese undercooked. I complained to a staff member at the time and was told "Everyone's tastes are different" and didn't want to make... More
