Went in here for lunch while down visiting my parents. Was very quiet with it being a Monday afternoon. Girl serving was very nice. Most main courses are about £10-£11 which might not be cheap but portions were decent. I had a gammon steak with egg. This came with a decent serving of fresh veg and a bucket of chips...

I have visited this hotel a few times now and it is a great little place! Warm, comfortable and welcoming by all the staff that work there. The food is great and the bar is fantastic. A fantastic place to stay on any business! Hope to see you again soon! ;)

Arrived after taking a very short detour from the motorway (literally minutes). Hotel is attractive with plenty of parking, very nice garden and friendly welcoming staff. We popped in to see if they could cater for a Vegan and Vegetarian and could not have expected a better reception. Vegan and Vegetarian food on the menu/special's board. The food was imaginative...

I couldn´t believe our good fortune when we showed up without a reservation on a Friday evening after a long drive north from Portsmouth. We were given a lovely, large double room with a large bath. The price for our accommodation was actually less than I had paid for the previous night in a Travelodge! The whole time we were...

This hotel is a true gem. The food is amazing. I have been working here and stayed for a number of months and the consistency is excellent. The rooms are large and very comfortable. A place I can certainly recommend

We came to Gretna to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we chose to stay at the Gretna chase hotel and how lucky were we, the hotel rooms are spacious and are comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything you need but the best was the food, all meals we had were cooked to perfection and reasonably priced the staff were all friendly,...

We called in for a Saturday lunch, and as expected near Gretna Green, there was a wedding taking place. Our meal came with delicious steamed vegetables but that was the only saving grace because the rest of the meals were terrible. It was just overpriced processed food and a disappointment to our day.

We had our wedding here on the 17th October 2015, the service we received from the minute we walked through the door the night before was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much for the staff they were brilliant especially the ones that served the wedding party. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a suitable wedding reception...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located on the Scottish / English border, Gretna Green is world famous for its runaway marriages and in the mid nineteenth century there was much rivalry between the various marriage house proprietors ... The Gretna Chase Hotel was built by John Murray, an extremely successful businessman in the marriage trade, and tenant of Allison's toll-bar. Completed in 1856, Murray built the hotel opposite the toll-bar. It proved very popular with clients, being the first in the area to offer stabling for horses. Today, The Gretna Chase Hotel offers modern amenities, but retains much of its original character. All bedrooms have pleasant views of the surrounding countryside, and public rooms are furnished in a style in-keeping with the age of the hotel. Fully licensed, privately owned and completely supervised by the owners, this small but extremely comfortable hotel offers the discerning guest a carefree informality away from city pressures. We would be delighted to show you around the hotel by appointment , to highlight all the facilities we have to offer and discuss your personal requirements. ... more   less
