Decided to visit this Chateau one afternoon and really glad we did. Really informative tour, saw lots of rooms unlike other chateau tours we have been on. There are lots of stairs on this tour, both wooden and stone spiralling right up to the tower and out onto the guards walk. However, my 87 yr old mother managed it !

We had a most friendly welcome from the staff who clearly enjoy their jobs at this beautiful old chateau. Nothing was too much trouble for them during our visit. I felt privileged to to stay in such an authentic and historic building. Breakfast was first class.

Very difficult to find from address. Best to go to village of Crezannes and ask. There's no reception, just a ticket office for chateau tours. We arrived at 4:30pm and were told by the ticket office that the guide was busy giving tours, so wait. Nowhere to sit so retreated to our car. When the guide arrived she helped with...

The guide was very good however spoke only French on our tour so we had to concentrate very hard. Lovely building and pleasant gardens. Small museum with some interesting pieces. On the day we visited there was a special horse event which was well attended and all the people that worked there very pleasant. The pigeonnier quite spectacular. We didn't...

It seems impossible to review this as an attraction so this should be listed separately. This is a great visit with lots to see in the castle and grounds and a very full English translation of the guide book. An added bounds was an equestrian display in the afternoon

We stayed at Crazannes at the beginning of July over a weekend. When showed our rooms (Puss in Boots and Marie de la Rochandry), we were told there were no other guests at the castle and given our keys to the huge iron gates! The rooms are magnificent, beautifully decorated and with just the right amount of historical touches. The...

A wonderful experience within this ancient chateau. We stayed 5 nights and were looked after extremely well, especially with the free upgrade to the suite. Vey quiet and peaceful location with great gardens and a super pool. A great breakfast each day too although it was odd to not see any staff during the breakfast times. Guests need to remember...

This was wonderful – a beautiful and elegant chateau in the French countryside, not far from Bordeaux. I had a 16thC room in the top of a turret – wow. The guys running the place speak very good English, so UK tourists can book with no worries. And they sent me a direct confirmation email (in English) so that it...

Romantic, romantic, romantic! This chateau was a real treasure to find. My two girlfriends & I stayed here for a long weekend early in the spring. We were pleasantly surprised to find out on arrival that we were the ONLY guests – and therefore had free reign over the chateau and its grounds (including the castle proper, the tower, the...

This lovely Chateau is a beautiful "off the beaten path" place to relax and unwind. If you go in the early summer, you will find the nearby villages filled with sunflowers. The Chateau itself is fascinating and beautifully maintained. You will not find a more restful place in France to meditate and absorb local culture. The nearby towns of Port...
