We stayed here for 1 night whilst we visited the IWM at Duxford. The inn is a charming old coaching inn with beams, uneven floors, blazing fires and creaky floorboards. The inn is ran by Simon and his wife who are truly lovely people, accommodating, polite with a wicked sense of humor. We dined by the blazing log fire and...

Just returned from a night staying at the Queens Head. I was not looking forward to it as I'm generally not a pub person, but the overall experience has changed my opinion. Yes its old and creaky, but that's definitely part of its charm. The staff were fantastically accommodating, and I cannot fault their 1-1 approach. Felt like I was...

As a travelling engineer I visit many places all over the UK. I have recently been working in Saffron Walden and needed somewhere local to stay. I contacted the Queens head and found the staff very helpful indeed, after speaking to the landlady Claire my accommodation was sorted. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff member Kim...

We stayed just for one night but it was great. We were lucky enough to stay on a Friday when there was also a Cher tribute band playing along with a bbq.. We knew before booking that the pub was old and expected it to have character , which it did. Yes it did creak but that added to its...

We booked to stay through AirBNB for a wedding local to the hotel/pub. We arrived and spoke to the lady at the bar/reception and as she flicked through the booking diary and then furiously typed away on a laptop it became clear that they had double booked rooms. The lady dealing with us said they didn't have a booking for...

Stayed two nights for a wedding in Saffron Walden. The pub is old and unfortunately it had scaffolding all round so the overall effect of a country pub was lost. However, work has to be done so this did not put us off the stay. A very warm welcome and shown our room. The room and en suite were adequate....

We stayed a night here after a day trip to Saffron Walden. The Queenshead Inn is a fantastic pub and a great place to stay the night. The landlord and lady were so friendly and the food was excellent. We had a chicken and ham pie with creamy mash and veg. This was a proper pie (not just a bowl...

This was our first visit being new to the area. As the weather was nice we decided to go for lunch with our 1 & 2 year olds and sit in the garden. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the garden and the fact that it had a good sized climbing frame and slide. Our two children were...

I stayed here for a family wedding. We arrived after a long journey and the staff were very friendly. We stayed in the bar and had a few drinks which were reasonably priced. Had food which was very very nice. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The staff were very nice and friendly at all times. The next morning...
