I attended a wedding at this venue last week. I can say without fear of contradiction that it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. I sat for a long time trying to find a fault with the venue, staff, or location. I failed. There is nothing I can recommend to the hotel that would improve it. If Carlsberg did hotels it would be Hotel Monasterio. The venue is breathtaking and what made it even more special was the fact that the staff was just perfect. Nothing was a problem and everything was delivered with a smile. The venue was that good I am thinking of getting married again at this venue. It was 40 years ago I married the first time but this venue made me want to do it again (to the same girl!)

Tucked away in large, secluded grounds. We stayed in one of the suites. Absolutely beautiful room with a small private terrace. The pool is absolutely stunning. Huge with loads of sun beds, quality cushions and towels. The staff are so friendly. Can’t do enough to help. Lovely breakfast. Good buffet choice and cooked available if you want it. A wonderful place to stay.

Had a fantastic few days staying at this beautiful place for a family wedding. We had the whole place which was stunning, a perfect retreat from the outside world. An oasis! We were in one of two new rooms added to the back which were perfectly in keeping with the setting.

We stayed here for two nights to relax after a stressful few weeks. It was exactly what we needed. The Monasterio has a
very peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. The gardens are lovely and the pool area is large and well appointed with a beautiful pool pavilion. We had one of the two suites, Room 1, which is decorated in the traditional old Spanish style. Very comfortable king sized bed. We were delighted to see some old friends on the staff, Jose Miguel and Damien who looked after us wonderfully. We had a fantastic steak the first night, perfectly cooked.

We stopped here on our way through from Portugal to Marbella so sadly didn’t get to chill there for a whole day as we would have loved to. Beautiful old renovated finca, lovely bar, dining room, and living room areas, roaring fires, real Xmas tree, scented candles, great music softly playing. And the staff are exceptional. We were delighted that the owner made the effect to come and find us, and constantly checked we were OK. There was a Polo cocktail reception for a small group of players in the bar so we more than happily vegged out on the sofa in front of the fire, and the chef came to find us twice with a selection of the canapés from the cocktail reception, charming service. One tiny point is when booking I requested a double room on an upper floor, and got one with twin beds on the ground floor (and they were definitely not full), but as we got there at 7pm and left at 845am we couldnt be bothered to question it, however I am quite sure if we had, it would have been sorted out for us very speedily. Can’t wait to go back, this place just oozes character.

We were referred to this property by a friend and it lived up to its billing. We've stayed in many Paradors in Spain and this property compares well with that category of hotel. It's a beautiful building in extensive grounds including well-managed lawns and gardens, a very large outdoor pool and interesting outdoor seating and places to relax. We enjoyed a ground floor room with private terrace overlooking garden. The major difference between this property and Paradors is the level of personal service and attention from staff which allowed us to eat when and where we wished and with some style and quality of food and wine. It tries with some success to welcome you into a family atmosphere that we found very relaxing. Although it's only 10 or 12 kilometers from Sotogrande, you need your own transportation to fully enjoy this location which is surrounded by open countryside and about 4 km from nearest small community of San Martin del Tesorillo. Excellent boutique hotel with warm and welcoming team. Outstanding and enjoyable experience. And be sure to visit Jimena de la Frontera about 15 kms north.

Visited this wonderful hotel to attend an art exhibition . Was staggered and amazed at the wonderful surroundings and the first class staff from the top downwards. An experience that we shall repeat soon. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day especially Emily on the front desk who was so professional about everything.

I have just returned from this hotel. We were with family and friends on a special birthday. The hotel is one of the nicest boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were incredible the food was incredible and I hope to return before the rest of the world find out about this hidden gem (diamond!) and the prices increase to reflect what a special place this is! Enough said.
