Gumbo Limbo is a great base for exploring the Mountain Pine Ridge reserve to the south, and is easily accessible from the George Price Highway (and from the international airport in Ladyville). Food was great, rooms and pool were squeaky clean, and the staff was amazingly friendly, and not the least-bit patronizing. Jenny and Mike make you feel like old...

It is a little out from San Ignacio up a short but rough road. Once you get there, the view and the peace are lovely. San Ignacio is a very old town and can be a bit noisy so being out suited us well. We were two couples and each had out own lovely cottage. There are only 5 cottages...

My husband and I spent 4 amazing days at GumboLimbo in mid-February 2016. Mike and Jenny are amazing hosts and their resort is breathtaking. The location is exotic and unique, in the midst of the jungle with fantastic views of the mountains. We loved the exotic birds - 5PM the parrots alert you that it is time for happy hour....

Gumbo Limbo is a 5 cabana micro-resort. It is clean and comfortable and owners and staff are warm and accommodating. This is a great place to unwind, enjoy the sounds of nature and the stars at night. The resort is off-grid and does not have satellite TV or wifi (to any dependable degree) so come here expecting peace and quiet,...

We had an excellent trip at Gumbo Limbo and couldn't have been happier. The accommodations were fantastic and food was great. Mike and Jennie were pleasant and helpful with orchestrating transportation and tours. We would highly recommend this place for everyone! It's "off the beaten path", which is what we like, but close enough to San Ignacio to visit back...

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Gumbo Limbo Resort in February (2016). Our 7 night stay was absolutely marvellous and, having travelled quite extensively, we were amazed at the views from our breakfast/dinner table and of the comings and goings of such a varied number of birds. We had a beautiful 'Cabanya', capable of sleeping...

It was a great quiet place to stay, near to San Ignacio, if you need to go on tours, but away from the city noise. Great host and hostess, Jennie and Mike, were very helpful. Very relaxing place to stay after staying on the reef. The cabins are lovely. Definitely would go back again.

This is a great little park. Not a whole lot to do but what there is was really great. The Macaws are beautiful, the little museum was interesting and the monkeys were a whole lot of fun. I would like to return sometime and spend a little more time.

Our family of four spent four nights here over Easter and loved it. Very convenient to the local town and the Mayan ruins. We had breakfast every day, and Mike makes the best coffee in a French Press. We had two great dinners, which included appetizer and dessert for one set price. The food is English style but after a...

What you see on their web site, is what you will see when you get there. The staff and good are wonderful, as well, you can sit and have a wonderful conversation with the owners of the resort. Recommended for the peace.

“If you book with Expedia or any of those travel services, it's best to call the owners and let them know how many guests you're bringing with you. There are different bed arrangements for different kids of guests. I learned this in conversation with the owners & they can pretty much accommodate anyone. Great place for peace & quiet with a 10min drive to the cutest little town.”
