After receiving vouchers for my birthday we decided to try out the rising sun as it is on our doorstep and we were not disappointed! Patrick is fantastic at what he does and made sure we were looked after at all times, he really is a credit to the whole set up. All the other staff seemed lovely also! Food...

We visited The Rising Sun for lunch, a party of nine including three young children. We were delighted to be able to reserve a table at short notice for a Saturday lunchtime and were very impressed with the fantastic views from the restaurant. Sadly, that was the last time we were impressed, the service was abysmal and the food was...

Thank-you for the feedback and all the information, it has allowed me to properly investigate your comments. It does appear we had a small delay - around 30 minutes, between your starter and main course for this I apologise, it was myself that sat you down and I was on the bar or welcoming customers for the duration of your...

Went for meal with friends, initial impression wad a nice ambiance - until the shreaking band came on. Our friends had all travelled to see us but conversation was near impossible once the band had started. We asked several members off staff if we could move to the quiet and empty area of the restaurant but were refused as their...

Thanks for taking the time to review us, I will be speaking to the team and Duty Management that were on shift on Friday night to ensure this does not happen again. Simon

Fab choice of food, three menus, excellent value. Patrick our waiter was very entertaining. We shared the platter which was more than enough to satisfy 6people it was huge. I had chicken fajitas which were delicious. Others had two types of lamb dish, Cesar salad, hunters chicken and sea bass all were fab. Noone could manage dessert as mains were...

...cheap food. This could be the perfect pub, the location is amazing. However, the food is distinctly average and the staff; mediocre. If eating in the bar, you have to tell the bar staff when you have finished your starter before they will serve your main. They do allow dogs.

Thank-you for your feedback. We do not expect our customers to tell us when they have finished their starters and I sincerely apologise if this was the case when you dined with us. My apologies Simon

We have just had a 3 night stay, well looked after! On arrival we were greeted by the very lovely Geri Jones! We had room 8, very comfortable and great view! Food fabulous as normal, good value for money! Patrick the duty manager was such a lovely, jolly man and made our stay more enjoyable! Nice to see Helen again!...

We booked a table but on arrival were told that there was a delay of up to an hour & a half before we would get our food! Having booked we didn't expect this! We hadn't just walked in, we had booked and surly this is the point of booking a table! We decided to stay as other restaurants would...

Thanks for the review, we appreciate you waited a while for the meals, but it is good to hear that the standard was still up to scratch. We were exceptionally busy and as a consequence we did unfortunately start running out of roasts at around 7pm. I am looking into ways of improving our speed of service and I hope...

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify the Mums eat free was off a specific menu that you needed to ask for on booking, we did however give you one meal complimentary for the confusion. We did have a delay on main courses which I thought I had let everyone know about, my most sincere apologies if I did not let...

The food was excellent and good value for money. We visited in the evening and could only see the lights of Cheltenham in the distance. Will definitely go again in the summer to experience the lovely views you'd get from the gardens. Would recommend to anyone
