Rancho Esperanza is a very calm and relaxed place, you should not miss if you go to Nicaragua. The host and the other staff are very friendly and helpful all time, the food is absolutely delicious and varied and if you don't want to eat at this place you can easy go to the village Jiquilillo and find some options...

I have done a lot of travel and have had my fair share of sketchy lodging experiences. This was NOT one of them! The Rancho is extremely well-run, clean, and the owners go out of their way to help you. My friends and I spent a week there in early February and were impressed with all of the activities offered,...

We camped at Rancho Esperanza with our van, it was quiet, with good food and plenty of good people around. The staff was super friendly, and so were Nate and his wife, the owners. This is a lovely space, with cabañas painted with beautiful art, hammocks everywhere, family style meals(with vegetarian options) and also with a very clear mission to...

Love this place!!! A group of us visited Rancho Esperanza for a beginners surfing trip in December 2016. The cabanas were lovely, the food was terrific. Nate and Shanna were amazing hosts and the other travelers we met there were great. Nate also provided excellent surf lessons. We all had an amazing time and would highly recommend it!!

My boyfriend and I traveled Nicaragua for the month of December and Rancho Esperanza was a definite highlight. We came for the reputably good beginner surf and low key low tourism environment and were not disappointed. Our cabana was sweet and comfortable, the meals were tasty, and the staff super kind. Nate's surf lesson gave me the tools to have...

owners/staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I stayed here for 9 days then extended my stay for longer because I was loving this hidden gem. If you like relaxing in Hammocks this is the spot. I will be back for sure

Beach is endless and has hardly anyone on it. Bungalows are ok, open air bathroom with composting "toilet", food was quite good and very reasonably priced. Manager Jeff was super nice and friendly. Very young clientele (except for us!)

First off a little about me. I'm 60 years olkd, I'm a diabetic Type1, and years ago I was a sponsored surfer. Hadn't been on a board in around 25 years. Just for reference.I was a bit concerned with my abiliries to handle all this. I traveled here with 6 friends who wanted to learn to surf. We arrived at...

If you're looking for some serious R&R this is where you go. A bit out of the way but... cities suck anyway. Amazing people, beaches and hammocks. Nothing but good things can be said. Missing my hammock as I type. Ohh and the food is amazing! Have a shake you won't regret it.
