This was the highlight of our amazing trip to Tonga. Kalafi and Taiana are fanstatic hosts - be it preparing some great and very generously-sized home cooked food, allowing us to help ourselves to the many coconuts, papaya and other fruit straight from the tree, keeping the site clean and well maintained, providing snorkeling and kayaking gear, pumping more water...

Uoleva Island was definitely the highlight of my 3,5 week trip to Tonga! Yes, it's really basic with no wifi, or electricity for that matter. The shower is just a garden hose and the fales are made from wood. But that was what made it so special and memorable! There are only a few trees around the fales so there's...

Tonga is such a beautiful place, we left the main island immediately to travel north first by plane and then Jim The Boatman. Utter isolation! Fabulous, relaxing reading, eating drinking (DF Gin straight into the coconut off the tree.... Our fale (hut) was just metres from the sea. We were essentially the only people on the island (Apart from Taiana...

Kalafi and his wife are the nicest hosts you could ever think of! Their place on this little island is just marvelous! If you ever want to escape from everything just go there! Kalafi would go fishing every day, and every evening Taiana would prepare the best traditional tongan food, with fresh coconuts and papayas from the trees around. The...

We stayed here for a few nights in a bungalow. Literally right on the beach. Basic room with mattress (with unwashed sheets) on the floor. Bit of issue sleeping at night, with rats in the walls. However if you're on a budget, then this place is fantastic - You're literally on the beach. The most perfect, deserted beach ever -...

We stayed there for more then a week on our trip to Tonga. The beach is beautiful and the island is very isolated. However the place it very basic the kitchen is unhygienic however the toilets were in better condition. The host is friendly and a good person to have a conversation. The place need some basic care and cleaning....

What can say. The old man owners just so rude. Aggressive and abusing. He was hurting animals and killing anything coming near his "precious" place. When he getting drunk he start showing off about this. Killing turtles. And then about killing dogs of other people on the island. How he so clever and will get them all. We just think...

We had such an amazing holiday here! We normally never stay at one place for more than two nights when we travel but we are so happy we stayed for 8 nights, this place is awesome. Beach is beautiful, Taiana and her family very helpful and friendly, accomodation cozy and food delicious. Fales are simple but it gives you all...

The beach there is really beautiful! And an American Guy who is living there is really really nice! But the owner is the worst person we have ever met! He has a big problem with controlling himself. Really really agressive and not kind at all! Also doesn't share things at all! He screamed at us without any reason. Nobody ever...
