Detailed Reviews
7 of us plus 2 dogs stayed for 2 nights.. When we arrived I was very happy to find a warm and very welcoming room in cold one of the August evenings. Breakfast choice was good and nicely presented. We booked Dinner for both nights and were not disappointed.. Everyone in our party were very happy with food. Staff and owners (I guess) very friendly and very attentive. It's only 15min away from Pen Y Fan walks and 30min from four waterfalls walk. I would recommend this place to anyone who is planning trip to Brecon Beacons.

Today six members of our family went to The Usk & Railway for lunch and had a fabulous meal.
We were greeted warmly and given a choice of tables by a very friendly and personable waitress.
The food arrived in good time and all starters arrived at the same time as did all the other courses. Every one of us enjoyed our meals. The menu is extensive and there is also an excellent choice for vegetarians - the ratatouille was delicious. The menu is extensive and provided us all with a great choice.
We would all thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning.

We chose to stay here because its central to the Brecon Beacons National park. We saw some of the reviews and book up for a week so as to tour around South Wales on our motorcycle. What a find this place is, the accommodation is great with nice airy rooms the beer and pub side is good and the food, well the food is something else they have a couple of brilliant Chefs at this pub who no how to cook the food is tasty to say the least and as my wife is vegetarian and I'm not sometimes when we are touring it takes a while to find places to eat that do good meals for her. Nothing was to much trouble when my wife asked Linda who runs the pub with her husband if the chef could do something different for her this place is a real find. We look forward to staying here again when exploring more of the south wales country side. There is a small car park at the front and one at the rear of the pub along with outside seating and at night its nice and peaceful its just a great place to stay.

The hosts delivered on the key things guests usually want - good friendly atmosphere, fantastic rooms, and a restaurant focusing on local produce prepared by some very skilled chefs.
We had a couple of nights and it was a really warm and welcoming experience, overseen by hosts who seem to understand what’s important to guests.
They fully deserve their reputation as a quality hotel. The beer was top notch too.
We won’t hesitate to rebook next time we’re in the area.

A lovely warm welcome awaited us at the Usk & Railway Inn (me and friends travelling by motorcycle), beautifully appointed rooms with very comfy super king beds and modern en suite with powerful shower with a large enclosure, the bar has an excellent range of drinks to suit every palate, the food is delicious and well presented, I highly recommend the pie of the day and the beef stew, both were very tasty.
Breakfasts are of extremely good quality with the eggs bacon etc all cooked perfectly.
There was free off road parking and it’s perfectly located for exploring the Brecon Beacons.
We will return

We have stayed 2 nights. The rooms was spacious and super clean.
On a first night we have decided to go to Brecon for dinner. That was ok. On a second day we ate at the pub downstairs and that what we should have done in a first place! :))
Curry was spicy and fragrant and bbq ribs packed with meat. Chunky chips perfectly fried.
Wish were staying for Sunday roast, it would def be delicious.
This is the only place packed with locals and no wonder why. Owners are very accommodating and using local produce in the kitchen.
The pub is small and cosy decorated (this is December 2021)
Great selection of gins. Try the rhubarb one!
Great location for any trips to Brecon National Park. All the hiking routes are around 10min drive.

Stayed for one night. To check-in you have to go into the bar as there is no reception desk. We were greeted by the lady owner who is lovely. She gave us the key to our rooms and confirmed the times for dinner. Rooms were lovely and clean. The showers was great, the bed big and comfortable. Towels and toiletries laid out on the beds. The evening meal was amazing. We all had the Chicken Kyiv which included a donation to a charity for Ukraine. It was brilliant and very reasonably priced. There was a good selection of wines and beers which went down well. After a good nights sleep we had a brilliant breakfast. You order your cooked breakfast the night before then come down slightly early to help yourself to cereals and toast. Your cooked breakfast is then brought to your table. The inn states that it uses produce from a local butcher and you can tell. Absolutely tasty thick bacon rashers and sausage. For the price you pay it’s absolutely amazing good value. Its an absolute gem of a place to stay and especially eat at.

We visited the Usk and Railway on a busy Saturday evening, we started off just going for drinks but when we asked about food they were able to fit us in and made us feel very welcome. The lady advised that they could adapt meals if possible to be dairy free, as it was all cooked from scratch. Also that there might be a little wait but we didn’t really experience any delay at all. The food was absolutely delicious. My partner had the fish pie, he said the bar was set high by his mum’s delia homage, but he absolutely loved his meal. I’d recommend stopping in if you ever visit Sennybridge. I think we’ll be back for sure.

Stayed a night on route through the Brecon Beacons on a motorbike and loved everything about the Usk and Railway. Andy and Linda are great hosts, room 3 was lovely and dinner was delicious (lamb shoulder special and regular menu stuffed chicken breast both highly recommended). Would stay again in a heartbeat

Excellent dinner - we where travelling back home and stopped and asked someone where to go for dinner - they recommended this pub and we where not disappointed. Food was excellent, fresh and homemade. Service was also brilliant. It was very busy and the locals where friendly and talkative. I am gluten free and it was very easy to find food on the menu that catered for it. Would definitely recommend and return!

I went here one Sunday and they were serving Sunday lunches. My guess is you probably have to book as they seem really busy.
