On two separate occasions in the last three years we have made it a priority to visit this house. We love not only the house but the chance to go for walks all day over beautiful landscape in peaceful, off the beaten track narrow roads and pathes. The afternoon clouds roll up from the valley providing quite a special ambience....

Posada de las Nubes is more an experience than a hotel. The beautiful estate feels extremely rural, but is only 15 min outside of Alausí. The gardens around the home create the inner ring of exterior beauty, further beyond the rolling green pastures, gardens, and landscape seems to extend forever and get swallowed up by puffy clouds. We walked along...

Our second visit to this exquisite posada so full of character and charm. Carolina, the proprietress, with grace and artistry presented us with delicious meals and made us feel at home. We enjoyed lovely flannel sheets in a perfect bed and warmed our feet by a welcome fire. The setting is stunning in February when the deep green ravines and rocky...

This is a wonderfully positioned hacienda, high in The Andes about 15 mins spectacular drive from Alausi. The hacienda is as charming and colourful as Carolina the hostess. The rooms, although chilly are spacious and the balconies have wonderful views across the valley. The house is spacious and holds an eclectic mix of books and curios in a 'shabby chic'...

This family-owned bed and breakfast is wonderful! The hotel and rooms are so charming and comfortable. The location is in the mountains and the views are stunning. It is not uncommon to see clouds rolling in across the fields. The hotel has electricity, hot water, and wifi which is great considering its remote location. The owners are so nice and...

After venturing through an arrestingly lovely but quite curvy road, we finally saw the very aptly named Pousada de las Nubes. The Pousada is simply lovely. The two wonderful sisters who run the Pousada have great taste and a sense of uniqueness. The walls are filled with interesting objects, the rooms are spacious and charming. The whole reconstruction of this...

When I arrived at Posada De las Nubes I was nearing the end of a six month journey through the Andes. The trip had taken me from the southern most point of South America to the high Andes of Ecuador. At this point I was exhausted from my travels and had lost the adventurous spirt that I had in the...

We had a wonderful stay at the Posada del las Nubes before a recent trip on the Devil's Nose train. Our hostess Rocio could not have been more gracious, she even arranged our train reservation prior to our arrival and prepared breakfast early in the morning on the date on our departure so we could get to the train by...

The location is magnificent, a restored hacienda high above the town of Alausi. Octavio and his sister Carolina are the most gracious and charming hosts. We arrived in Alausi by bus and called the phone number on their website. Soon Octavio was driving us in his truck up and up the winding road to the Posada. Carolina's artistic acumen has...
