Have just returned home following a lovely one night stay after a long, tiring day at Longleat. The welcoming and friendly ambience of this traditional style inn was just what we needed for our family treat. The rooms are delightfully furnished in a modern but homely style with all creature comforts and are spotlessly clean. Ours was on the top... More

The George at Nunneyis an old coaching inn which has been successfully and tastefully refurbished to meet the needs of the 21st century traveller whilst retaining the sense of its history. The catering side of the George is excellent and cannot be praised to highly. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful at all times. The location in the historic... More

An old inn, in fact quite quaint from the outside but with modern layout inside within the inevitable restrictions that old buildings bring. I had a basic room which was clean and well appointed if quite small. We had a rather convivial meal from a basic but well thought out and inexpensive menu. Breakfast was excellent with the added benefit... More

Beautiful stunning setting and really great restaurant. It's Christmas decorations are so pretty and romantic. My husband and two teenage children arrived at 8 pm. Not huge portions but very deceptive as quite filling, no room for pudding. Although don't expect take away chip shop portions, if you have chips for a side dish. There were really lovely though, proper... More

The food at the George is burger bar style but with finesse. It is tasty and wholesome with a good selection and served quite quickly. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff cheerful and energetic. A good selection of ales is on tap and decent wines available. Parking is a bit of a problem on busy nights but overall worth... More

We stopped here for 1 night after a day at Longleat. Lovely Old Hotel with a modern twist in a quaint village. We booked one of the suites which was a large room, had to climb quite a few stairs but it was worth it. We had a meal in the Restaurant the meal was lovely and the service was... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here Saturday 14th November. After visiting longleat zoo. We find the staff very welcoming from when we walked in to when we left. Stay in the village on a regular basis and always use the George either for a drink or meal. But having second thoughts now after being charged £11:15 for a large glass of Siraz and a pint of Kozel! Come on that's pratically club or hotel prices. Will definately make us think twice before going for a drink there.

Hello Nigel We are very pleased to hear you visit The George at Nunney whenever you visit the area. I am sorry you found your drink bill so high last time you visited. It was only because you chose the most expensive wine on our by the glass wine menu. (Shiraz) We offer an extremely popular Merlot, and Rioja by... More
