Not as good as people make out - The room was freezing from the time I got there till I left , maybe because the window was open all day and the heating couldnt heat it up. Staff are friendly and continental breakfast included but for the price I paid I would have expected better.

A real gem located within the local community. The warmest welcome from Stan and his staff. Good food, comfortable clean room and reasonably priced. Yes, the bar plays music, just ask for a quieter room if it disturbs you. I arrived on Christmas Eve? Segedunum Roman Fort less than 10 minutes away. Will be back.

Last month 9 of us went to the Dorset arms after a meeting in Wallsend. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, as was the owner Stan. The food and drink is second to none. We will defiantly return again in the future and spread good words to others.

Returning customer, there were eight of us. Had the three course special. Really good portions and tasty food, highly recommended. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff 👍🏻 a lovely local business, good wine list too. Great access as my son had my granddaughter in pram.

We were slightly disappointed on arrival as the bins hadn't been emptied (owner apologised for this when mentioned at check out) and the room was quite small - the bottom corner of the bed was against a wall, meaning you had to climb over to get into the far side of the bed. This was only slightly annoying for us...

But loved it so much here we cancelled the other hotel and stayed here another night. Very friendly owner and staff. Great food including a very tasty full...
