The hotel was a base for me and some colleagues for one night and provided what we needed, nothing more and nothing less. The hotel owner was friendly and welcoming, who was willing to accommodate our requests - even printing a document when we required it and were without other options.

Used the hotel for 1 night. Hotel is pleasantly quaint and quirky with fantasticly helpful staff. Carpark facilities are a little cramped, but plenty of space on the adjacent roads if needed. Lovely breakfast served. Would recommend

This hotel has been recently refurbished and is very clean and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. A comprehensive collection of hot drinks available in the bedrooms with biscuits. The bedrooms are a good size also the bathrooms. The dining room is light and airy and very pleasant on a sunny morning. The breakfast bar is attractive with...

The exterior and reception area of the hotel, are very nice, clean and modern. The receptionist was efficient and sorted our rooms out quickly. She did however point out that at the time of our visit, they were having a new kitchen, and there was no hot breakfast, and presumably no restaurant. Food shouldn’t be much of a problem shortly...

My sister and I travelled down for the bank holiday weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed. I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast and the kitchen staff were helpful and efficient. Overall the staff were very welcoming and seemed keen to ensure that we had a pleasant stay.

We held this celebration at the Grassmere having visited previously for Sunday lunch. We had invited 25 people and the hotel supplied a three course meal choices some 2 months in advance for guest to choose. The meal choices were very good and suited everyone attending including vegetarians and vegans. The service on the night was a little confused and...

We had high expectations of this place being 4 star and we rated this one over others in the area. (How wrong were we) We were greeted ok and went to our room. The room was very small & dated! The decor was cheap and we were thinking about checking back out! The room was not cleaned (dust and hair...

On arrival we were greeted and went up to our room. Our first impressions were that it is very dated and on closer inspection hadn't been cleaned properly! There were marks all on the walls, they hadn't even replaced the toilet roll (just put a sticker on a near empty one), there were dark hairs on the bathroom floor and...

The rooms are of a good size and clean. However, our shower was lethal, so unsafe. It was either scalding (it actually burned me), or freezing. Completely unusable. Also our TV was broken and there was no attempt to fix or replace. If you want a place close to Bath this is fine.
