This pub is really well decorated, welcoming, warming and comfortable furniture. I highly recommend this pub and the pie of the day. The pie of the day was perfect amount of portion and was faultless. I had the chicken and chorizo pie, with a rich jus, butter roasted mix vegetables and perfectly cooked triple cooked chips. It was so delicious...

Came to the Lord Nelson Inn for a family birthday party. Decided the place to stop was where the celebration was taking place. The Lord Nelson Inn is situated on a corner just down from the Marshfield Garage, with the War Memorial in front of the Inn. Parking in Marshfield is at a premium and we parked just beyond the...

Walking the Cotswold Way, we got caught out for lack of planning in a nearby town with no rooms available. A few phone calls and very genial Alistair of the Lord Nelson organised a room for us — a charming, clean, well appointed room. We weary travellers were very grateful for our warm and friendly welcome, for the next morning's...

My wife and i were visiting a friend in Marshfield and had a room booked at The Lord Nelson. A warm welcome from Alistair and Claire. Our room was delightful, comfortable. well equipped and spotlessly clean. Fine food and fine ales. Well worth a visit. Thank you from Jon and Suzie.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere with log burning stoves and friendly landlord and locals. Have stayed here frequently the food is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable - a real home from home. Can't rate it high enough, always a warm welcome and a fantastic full English!

My husband stayed for 4 days on a business trip in late October and couldn't fault it. The service, hospitality and especially the hosts, Alistair and Clair were second to none. As a treat my husband took me back there on November 6th for 3 nights, whereby we both enjoyed a fantastic weekend. On the first evening whilst having an...

A traditional, well-run, comfortable and welcoming pub – at a good price. Excellent alternative to over-priced, over-crowded, parking-ferocious central Bath, just a few easy miles from the centre of town. Good, honest pub with good, honest rooms. We paid £80 for a well-sized double, modern and clean, with big ensuite featuring spacious storm-force shower. No noise, as well away from...

Staying here for 1 night and what a shame. Claire the landlady has been brilliant and very welcoming, the food is exceptional and you must try the blue cheese burger. To follow a great plate of cheese and biscuits and a red wine just to make me sleep!! Overall you must come here and sample food and the great hospitality...

“Only 3 rooms and all will be excellent and are away from the business end of the Inn (last orders at 2300 as well). If coming off the A46, ignore the SAT NAV which brings you through the whole village; come in from the north end entrance to the village as Inn only 2 minutes away then.”
