Just back from a weekend staying one night at Bear lodge. Firstly must say we were made up by the whole experience from the camp itself and the 2 days visiting Howletts and Port Lympne reserve. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children staying in 1 of the safari tents. The tent housed us all very comfortably...

My sister in law showed us a deal about Port Lympne Reserve on wowcher - the deal was for 6 people, x2 night stay and safari. Now, I will start with our journey which was no less than an absolute nightmare. Check in at this place is 4pm. We had a horrible journey due to the M20 being closed so...

We had a two night break 11th to 13th September 2016 and had a lovely time with the family. The tents are excellent and the beds are very comfy. The AAA safari was a great experience and Rebecca went out of her way to find the giraffes. The only downside is the trailer could do with a padded cushion!! The...

We went as a family of 5. The tents are very comfortable, the best I've stayed in, the restaurant food was very nice, the painted dog tour was fantastic, but on both nights we stayed, groups had booked multiple tents and invited in friends who lived locally and were very noisy into the small hours. Apparently hen nights are also...

The tents are excellent, comfy beds, shower and loo. A verandah is on the front, if you have young children it's worth asking for a tent facing the play area so that you can sit with your glass of wine and keep an eye on them! Port Lympne is hard work to walk round, very big and very hilly! Safari...

We stayed in tent 9 which is at the end of the front row of tents. They are in their own private enclosure via a separate entrance to the main park, 20 tents well spread out with a bar/restaurant in a big wooden lodge and a separate pizza boma. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bear Lodge is a luxury 'glamping' experience in spacious tented accommodation, with stunning views over our brand new bear enclosure, out to the Romney Marsh and English Channel. Formerly known as Elephant Lodge, family and friends can stay for 1, 3, 4 or 7 nights on our secure gated site, with parking. 19 luxury tents with en suite facilities, each comfortably sleeping six people, surround our central Bear Lodge Clubhouse and children's play area. Inside the tents, there's a spacious living area, including the 'bear necessities' such as cutlery, crockery, a small fridge and sink, plus, separate sleeping areas with real beds and comfy mattresses. The on-site clubhouse restaurant has a brand new menu for 2016, including traditional South American dishes, to compliment the arrival of our bear pair. We've also fully refurbished our bar area and alongside our new cocktail menu, guests can sample our exclusive 'spectacled beer'. A stay at Bear Lodge, includes entry to Port Lympne Reserve and sister park Howletts, near Canterbury and additional experiences are available to book including private Ranger guided safaris, animal experiences, archery, fishing, cycling and zorbing, so every day can be filled with wild adventures! ... more   less
